I stared at my phone. It's Tuesday. It's lunch. It's been exactly two days since my heart tattoo turned red. Since I fell in love. Since I found my possible soulmate.
I'm staring at my phone now. His contact inserted into my list. His number, 667-4323. I should text him. Apologize. Get to know him. But my thumb hovers the button as if I'm about to go on a roller-coaster--which, of course, I know I am.
"Hey, Nico!" Hazel plops down next to me on the school bench.
She notices me staring at my phone and looks over.
"You should text him." she advises.
I sigh, "How do I start?"
"Just say... introduce yourself. Maybe say what happened Sunday, and say you'd like to get to know him!"
I sigh again, "Okay."
