I walked in the direction of my school not thinking about what was about to happen.
I was listening to Wallow's song "Are You Bored Yet?". I mostly kept eye contact with the ground as I walked. Though every now and then I did lookup.
I took a look at the lovely environment in Hellworth Falls. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There were flowers blooming in every garden, adults were waving hello to others, children were heading to school. Cars were driving down the road, birds were chirping, and the sunlight shined over all of Hellsworth Falls.
The school wasn't far from my house it was a 15 minute walk away. I reached the school and a bunch of cars and students walked around the campus. There was a huge sign outside the campus reading "Welcome to Hellworths Fall High". I walked slowly towards the entrance so I wouldn't be noticed.
People were chatting, kissing under trees, texting, and calling. You see I have joined in the middle of the school year, so this all will be awkward. Usually, if it's the first day of school you don't get noticed as much if your new, but in the middle of the year, well I speak for myself.
I pulled up my hoodie over my head. I turned the volume up so I wouldn't hear the conversations of the students. I was about to enter the school doors when some idiot bumped into me.
Thud
The other person's book slammed onto the ground. I almost tipped over when someone caught onto my arm. I fidgeted my arm away from whoever was holding onto it. I lifted my hood up and plugged my earphones out. I looked up at the person as I gathered their books.
It was a boy. His chestnut brown eyes lit up in the sunlight. His hair was auburn colored and was set in a quiff haircut. He was wearing a white shirt with a colourful wolf on. He wore blue denim jeans and a denim jacket.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't looking as to where I was going. I guess," I said as I picked up all the books to hand it over to him. I stood up and straightened my hoodie with one hand.
"No, it was my fault I didn't see you there" He answered. He slowly reached for the books on my hand. I quickly handed the books over to him. Then I pulled my slouching bag handle up my shoulder and ran inside.
I ran inside and stopped into a random unlocked room. You see the only reason I ran in was because I didn't want to interact with anyone on the first day. You see I wanna be that person who just doesn't get noticed throughout the whole year. If I have to put up with the emo look, I'll do it, I don't have a problem with it.
To be honest, I have trust issues, so that's the real reason I ran but I'm just scared. I felt a presence in the room, I was about to turn when someone held onto my shoulder.
I held my breath. Slowly the hand on my shoulder started to turn me. I stood there making no movement until my body turned itself around.
"I'm sorry did I scare you?" The voice said. It sounded like a man, though I didn't want to assume their gender. My head was at an angle, I could barely see the person but I was able to see the door out.
I turned around to face the person. A tall man stood in front of me wearing a black suit with a colorful tie. He had black hair that was in a cropped hairstyle. He wore glasses with thick black borders and had a huge smile on his face. Around his wide smiling mouth, a layer of black, grayish colored hair covered the roof and the bottom. Though it was more of a goatee like Robert Downey Jr.
His teeth seemed like they were painted white, but I didn't want to say anything rude.
"Hello, I'm Principal Holden! I assume you're the new student at this school." He said as he opened the door.
Principal Holden gestured towards the door. I pulled up my slouching bag and walked out the door.
