I sensed someone staring at me. I was sure it wasn't from the back, or from the front. I turned to the right and saw the boy sitting next to me staring at me.

It felt weird, very weird so I looked down at his notebook. I smiled, as I saw the drawings.

It was drawn in pencil. The scenery was a huge tree on top of a hill at night. The drawing was focused on two boys under the tree. At first, it seemed like a hug, but it was a kiss. A cute kiss. A kiss between two misfortunate young teenage boys.

"That's really nice"' I whispered to the boy. I took a look at him and smiled. His hair was dirty-blonde and was in a crew-cut style. He was wearing a bright yellow half-sleeved shirt with denim jeans.

"Thank you"' he whispered back. "I can understand being the new student sucks, but I'll definitely show you around".

"Count me in!", A voice from behind the boy said. A girl popped out from behind him.

She had medium wavy lengthened hair in the color of glazed fire. Her eye color, hazelnut green, stood out under the artificial light.

The boy next to me slid his notebook over. I took a look at it and read the following.

"So, you are Shade. I should introduce myself. Well because of course, we are going to be good friends. My names Zach and my friend sitting next to me is Scarlett."

I took out a pencil from my rainbow pencil case and started to write onto the notebook. It read... "Well, I didn't think I'd become friends with anyone on my first day, but I'm glad I did!! I must say it's nice to meet both of you".

I slid the book over to Zach. Zach pulled it over so both him and Scarlett could read it. They smiled. For the rest of the class, we continued talking to each other through the notebook, instead of reading the textbooks.

Time passed by as pages were filled with life stories, introductions, jokes and much more.

There it was. An hour had passed by and I felt good. I felt better than ever since yesterday. I grabbed my bag and headed out the door with Zach and Scarlett.

Zach and Scarlett walked in the opposite direction. I walked to my next class and settled in. I introduced myself, walked to the back of the class, took out my supplies and lied undetected.

There then was a 10-minute break in which I organized my locker. The bell rang and I hurried over to, my next class. I repeated the same thing for my last class and waited for lunch.
