CHAPTER ONE
THE ANNOUNCEMENT

THE CROWD WAS CHEERING LOUDLY. Both of Finn Wolfhard's hands waved up in the air above his hand. His sweaty, baked red, freckled cheeks sculpted into a joyous smile.

His guitar dangles freely, hanging from his neck. He looked to his right, seeing Ayla putting both of her clenched fists onto her chest. She bit her lip, trying not to smile as wide.

Finn then looked to his left, he spotted Jack, drinking water out of a bottle. But nonetheless, Finn knew the pink on his cheeks wasn't due to exhaustion like his, but it was because he was blushing madly.

Finn turned to his back to see Malcom, shyly scratching the back of his neck with his free hand. The occupied hand holding his drumsticks.

The four young adults had just finished another show. Things haven't been better for Calpurnia. Their popularity has been growing faster by day. They've been performing in all sorts of music festivals in Vancouver.

Finn felt euphoric. He turned to the crowd again. But then, he heard a distinct cheer.

"Yay! Woo hoo!"

It came from backstage.

Finn looked to his right, and behind Ayla, he could see a bright, beaming smile from behind the curtains. The full face came to view.

Millie Brown.

Dressed in one of Finn's band tees, and a denim skirt with white Doc Martens, she stood there with a grin reaching from ear to ear, as she held her Polaroid camera up to her face. She zoomed it in on Finn— whom noticed what she was doing. He giggled, running a hand through his askew band of jet-black curls.

Snap!

Finn came to a halt. And Millie's face lit up (although he couldn't tell), as she eyed the small Polaroid dispensing out of her camera.

She squealed once she had it pinched between her fingers, Finn chuckled to himself giddily. Oh, this girl.

"Good bye, everyone! You were all so amazing! I hope you loved tonight as much as we did! I wish you'll all enjoy the rest of the evening further!" Ayla's honey toned voice breaks Finn's stare and trance on Millie.

"What she said!" Finn adds on. "Thank you for tonight! We hope to see you soon!"

The curtains started to release, blocking the band, as the lights started to dim, covering Calpurnia quickly.

"Phew!" Jack quipped. "Another show! We're on a roll, guys!" He remarked.

"Another good show. May I add." Malcom pipes up.

Ayla nods her head in agreement. "Got that ri-" Finn was interrupted with arms looped around his shoulders, and legs laced around his waist.

"Peaches." Finn chuckled. Peaches. Finn's little pet name for Millie. There was a distinct reason why he called her that, and it was simply because she always had the scent of peaches. From when he met her, that was the first thing he noticed.
