CHAPTER THREE
TOO LATE

The end of the month passed by ever so slowly for Finn. The last 2 weeks felt like he was met with an impasse. But finally, today was the day. The Velocity Music Festival came to an end. He was more than thrilled to see Millie again. Despite the fact that she had been acting peculiar lately. Her replies to his texts were so cold. Finn brushed off. And nonetheless, he was excited to meet his girlfriend in the flesh once more.

What was better was, Millie hadn't knew that he would be leaving today. Since he had told her he'd rest for a few days before returning home. It would be a surprise.

Right now, it was the day before Finn's flight, and he didn't want to go back empty handed. He wanted to give something to Millie, to make up
for the time he had been gone.

Finn wasn't blind to the fact that Millie loved the theatre. She loved musicals, she loved plays, she loved the dancing and singing. She loved it all.

She actually dreamt of being an actress once, but that didn't really go as planned.

Finn was on his phone, currently searching online for a play for him and Millie to watch sometime after he arrives home.

Then his eyes lit up. 3 words.

Dear Evan Hansen.

. . .

The plane ride was lengthy. 3/4 of Calpurnia was sleeping. And the 1 who wasn't sleeping was of course, Finn. He was far too excited to even shut his eyes for a second. He desired to rock Millie in his arms again, he wanted to make her smile that beautiful, gorgeous smile, he wanted to be engulfed in her peachy aroma. He just wanted... Millie.

Although, Finn wasn't just excited because of just merely seeing his girlfriend. It was also because of what he brought her.

He now started to vividly imagine Millie's reaction when she would receive his little gift. He could imagine how her eyes would light up. It made him feel funny inside.

Finn bit his lip to stop him from grinning like a moron.

This girl was going to be the end of him.

. . .

Finn practically bolted out of the airport. He grasped his luggage firmly, his bag ricocheting on his back as he ran. His band mates could barely keep up with the energetic boy. He was much too hyper that excited was an understatement.

"Oi! Finnie! Slow down, would 'ya?" Jack yelled from behind.

"Sorry, guys. I gotta blast. I can practically hear Millie calling me!" Finn exclaimed, with his heart eyes wide. The rest of his friends just chuckled, and watch him call for a cab going to Millie's.

As Finn entered the taxi, his nerves started to pick up. Adrenaline flowed through his veins and invaded his blood. The temperature seemed different from outside. Even with an air conditioner, the taxi seemed hot.

Finn thinks it's the excitement. The rush.

The curly haired boy stepped out of the taxi, and collected his things. He mutters a 'thank you' in between his inhales and exhales, as he was trying to catch his breath.
