I started to feel nervous as six o'clock neared, cooped up in the depths of my apartment.

I wore the medium between elegant and casual: a crisp white shirt, a plain black skater skirt, my favorite leather ankle boots, and a nice denim jacket.

I was pacing around the apartment as wonder clouded my thoughts.

I didn't want to get close to Caslon, but here I am.

Tugging at my ponytail, my mind was invaded with a painful curiosity. For all I know, we could be going to the dollar store.

I just hoped Caslon was not cruel enough to make a joke of this and completely embarrass me.

The doorbell rang, making me jump a bit out of my skin. I grabbed my small purse containing my phone, pocket cash, and a few small things like lip gloss.

I opened the door.

"Hey," I smiled as Caslon leaned against the door frame, taking a glance at my apartment.

"Hello, my graffiti criminal." Caslon grinned, his hazel eyes sparkling. "You ready to go?"

I subconsciously tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "Of course, let's."

We sunk in a comfortable silence on the way to the lobby and eventually to his car.

"So I'm guessing there's no way I'll get you to tell me where we're going," I said as Caslon started driving.

He chuckled. "Smart girl," Caslon had an airy smile as his eyes glazed the road.

"How do you like New York?" I asked to fill the silence.

Caslon's eyes flickered to me for a second before turning back ahead of him. "I'm really enjoying it. It's always better when you have someone to enhance the experience." I turned to look at him, but I didn't have to in order to see the smirk on his face.

I smiled and jokingly rolled my eyes. "Whatever you say."

"What?" He was staring at the road, but his facial expression was almost challenging me. "You don't believe me?"

"I didn't say that." I reasoned defensively. Then I softened my tone. "But maybe."

He gasped before laughing. "The faith to have in me, Vex."

Our laughter died down, but a smile was still stamped on my face. "Well in my defense, we've only known each other for a week."

Reminiscence poured into his eyes. "You're right. Today marks a week since I caught you red-handed in your graffiti." Caslon took a moment to wink at me. "Consider this our one week anniversary."

If I had water, I'd slowly drink it before having a dramatic worthy spit tank.

I blinked. "You say that like we're dating." I drawled and laughed awkwardly.

We haven't even gotten past the car ride and I slowly want to crawl up in a hole and die of embarrassment.

I thought back to me and Winsley's conversation.

"Why are you so curious about this guy?" I asked.

"Because you deserve love, Vex."

"No way," Caslon gaped in awe as we pulled into a parking lot. "Is Cleo Vexer blushing?"

"Oh god, don't start." I groaned, having a sense of déjà vu as I hit my head against the headrest of the car seat.

I heard Caslon's melody of laughter before he quickly gets out of the car and opens the door on my side.

I finally take a moment to soak in where we've arrived.

He holds out his hand. "My lady."

My gaze softens as I finally allow myself to fully enjoy the moment.

I smile and grab his hand, letting him lead the way.
