School the next morning felt burdensome as rain lightly poured throughout the entire day.

Fun fact about me, I hate rain.

My mood was glum as I tied my damp hair into a ponytail during second period. Of course, the Math hall and the English hall had to be in two separate buildings that got me caught in the cloud's vengeance.

Now, I had about ten minutes left of English before I run across school campus to go to third period with Sicily.

"You look angry." Caslon mumbles under his breath, only sparing a quick glance.

I rolled my eyes. "I could say the same about you, Allway."

"Are you being bitter about Saturday?  Because if I remember, you were the one who ruined it." Caslon barked.

"I'm not irritated because of that horrid dinner." I clarified. "I just hate rain."

Caslon looked dumbfounded for a moment before shrugging. "Okay, but why?"

"I just hate the feeling of being drenched in rain. It makes me feel gross." I shivered at the thought.

"That's understandable." Caslon nodded. "Now why did you make a scene after I specifically told you not to during the twenty-five minute car ride to my house?" He jarringly shifted topics.

I pursed my lips tightly. "I'll answer that when you tell me why you sided with your parents about wanting to run the family business when you told me that's not what you wanted."

"I asked you first." Caslon retaliated.

So I retaliated back.

"You're being a pushover by letting your family take control over your life.  You had no voice, so I spoke up."

"I didn't ask and I didn't want you to speak up." He spoke snidely. "So there, I answered my part."

"Is this really what you want?" I asked. "To create your life's legacy as a boring businessman only motivated by the line of blood that runs through the company?"

Caslon crosses his arms defensively. "You're twisting the situation."

"Am I?" I retorted. "Or am I just giving it a clearer light?"

He didn't have a response to that.

"When will you stop letting your parents run over you all the time?" I raised an eyebrow.

I huffed at his silence. "Riley's more of a man than you are."

Caslon's face filled with confusion. "When did Riley come into this?"

"Since she realized that there is more to life than the instructions her parents feed her like a neglected robot." I said as I went back to staring at my plain grey desk, my nails lightly tapping the surface.

These ten minutes were awfully slow.

Caslon stared at me like I was a puzzle, something that had to be solved.

"Why do you make life harder?" He groaned as he flopped his head into his hands.

I shrugged at him. "If I make your life harder than why am I in it?"

Caslon took a moment before removing his hands from his face.

"Go on a date with me."

My face grimaced. "Ew, why would I do that?"

"Don't question it." He said. "Just agree to go on a date with me." Caslon demanded.

"No," I vigorously shook my head. "I'm not going on a date with you.  I don't know where in your right mind you thought I would comply, but I'm not.  Final answer."

"Just please," Caslon now begged. "I need you to do me this favor."

I gave him an incredulous look. "You're not the one in the position to ask for favors, Allway."

"If we go on a date this Friday, I'll buy you food."

I sigh heavily.

"You're lucky you come from a wealthy family, Caslon." I turned my head to meet his hazel eyes. "Get ready for a drop on your credit card; we're gonna eat the night away."
