I awoke with a pounding at the forefront of my skull. I tried to turn my head and groaned with the pain it enhanced. I half opened my eyes to look upon the back of a seat in a car. I slowly sat up, rubbing my temple as I came to the conclusion that Joe had driven me back to school and forsaken me inside. Dick. Well he did leave a window open, but he still left me here.
I was relieved to find the door unlocked as I fell out onto the hard ground of the car park. I grunted as I found my feet, slamming the car door hard as I could before I began the trek towards my dorm. I had to pause five times to catch my breath to dispel the need to throw up.
I knocked on my door. No one answered. I knocked again. I was not in the mood and I was not a patient person. I knocked repeatedly for what felt like six hours before the door opened.
"What do you-? Oh."
I moved past Charlotte, giving Joe the evil eye. I refused to think about what those two did last night or what he was still doing here for that matter.
"Hey Isla."
I ignored him as I crawled onto my bed.
"Where were you?" Charlotte asked.
I lied face down on the covers, trying my best to not throw up all over myself.
"Are you okay?" She touched my hair.
I heard the door open.
"Woo!" April half sang as I heard her heels press into the floor loudly. "Who else hear feels like a woman?"
Charlotte chuckled.
"I knew you had a fiery spark, hit the road Joe."
"See you." I heard the kiss planted on Charlotte's cheek before he left the room.
"Have a rough and wild night Isla." April addressed me.
My hangover was starting to dispel but at the sound of her voice the headache resurfaced.
"Come on, don't spare us the details." She huffed at my silence before tugging at my hair.
"Ow!" I sat up to face her.
"Are you Mary or Magdalene?" She demanded an answer.
"How dare you? If Alick hadn't of intervened I could have been sexually assaulted."
She frowned. "I told you what I wanted."
"What you wanted, not what I wanted." I stood up. "Friendship is a two way street. And telling some random stranger that I wanted to fuck him is not a friendly thing to do!"
"You are just being dramatic!"
"You only ever think of yourself, just because you want to whore around doesn't mean I want to!"
April's lips drew into a thin line and her faced flushed with anger. "Now I know why you don't have a boyfriend." Her voice came out much calmer than I had anticipated. "You push them way as soon as they get close to you. No wonder your parents sent you away."
As soon as tears started to form in my eyes I stormed out of the room. I couldn't see through the blur of tears as I thundered down the stairs and into the main school building, not even thinking about where I was heading. I wiped my tears with my sleeve as I walked.
"Oof." I bumped into something solid.
"I'm sorry-hey, are you alright?"
I looked up, blinking to dispel the tears so I could see Mr. O'Sullivan clearly. "I'm fine, really." I went to walk around him.
