30 • Hot Chocolate

I run to the hallway and wait for the school gate to open. I run as fast as I can to the bus stand as soon as the gate opens. I look at the time and now is 3:43 p.m. I'm so confused on why Haneul didn't made it to school today. Is she still mad at me? Like 'really' mad?

The bus arrive around 5 minutes after that and I quickly get in. I sit next to a pregnant woman in the bus.

"Did you just got back from school?" She suddenly asks me. I smile and nod to her while turning my head to her side. "Are you going home now? Or do you have any other plans after school?" She asks more to me and she seems friendly.

"I'm not going to my home but to my friend's."

"Oh, why is that? Where is he?" She asks again and look around.

"It's a she.. and she didn't came just now so I got so worried," I fidget with my fingers.

"Oh~ I got it," She looks at me while smiling mischievously.

"What?" I laugh.

"Your girlfriend's house?" She laughs afterward.

"No.. not yet," I scratches my head low.

"I'm sure she will like you back, you're so worried about her and girls really love boy who cares about her so much," She smiles at me and get up.

"I'm going to take this stop. I hope you meet her safely," She says and I bow to her.

"Have a save deliver!" I say right before she get down the bus and she waves at me.

I continue to wait until the bus reach the stop in front of Haneul's residential. I run again to her house and it is so cold that when I stop running and look at my hands, they are both so pale and veiny.

I arrive at her house and enter through the small gates to her backyard. I didn't see any cars so her father and brother might not be home right now. I decided to go to the backyard since I could hear someone plays Wanna one's song on the phone.

I walk through the gate and I can see a familiar figure is shoving the leftovers snow on the grass. I am so grateful that the figure is actually Haneul's. I walk up to her and I can see her shocked face.

"Why didn't you come to school today?" I ask her right away.

"What do you care," She says and turn away.

"Yaa Song Haneul!" I say and she continues to ignore me. "What should I do to make you turn around and face me?" I desperately ask. I am so annoyed and I finally know this one way to make her turn around again.

I grab her neck and slightly pull it towards my direction. I turn her head around and kiss her lips. I can feel that she was kinda shock about the kiss but that's the only way I  can think of right now. This is my first time in forcing someone to kiss me. I let go of her neck and breath heavily. Her head is now low and I know that she is blushing really hard.

"Yaa, you just need to hear my apology first, okay?" I say and she eventually nods.

"Okay first, I want to apologize and say sorry to you about that book thing. I don't want us to apart because of some stupid shit like that. I'm sorry if you think that you're childish over that small thing but I was immature too." I say and she finally looks up to have an eye contact.

"Next, I want to apologize for what I told you yesterday..." I lower my voice as I really regretted all those words that came out from my mouth. "I know that you are mad and I, as a guy need to comfort you but instead, I made the situation worst. I wouldn't know how hard it is to not text you at night if this didn't happen. I'm so sorry.. from deep down of my heart, I'm sorry. I know I've been bad and if you can't accept me anymore, I understand," I say and sigh afterwards.

I look at her and she is looking at me blankly. I look at her and sigh again. I turn around to go home as I know that she didn't want me here now. Suddenly I feel that someone is pulling my hand from behind me. I turn around and Haneul is pulling my arm with her head low.

"I'm sorry too, for the harsh words I used yesterday. And of course, I'm sorry to act like a child over my own stupidity," She sighs and cup his own face.

"But that thing you did to me is so disgusting!" She mumbles behind her palm. "We could just kiss any other time! What if someone saw that?!" She cutely let out an angry tone.

I laugh. "So what if people saw? We're great together, you know?" I make a really confidence face and she laughs cutely.

"That's the smile I've been waiting for," I say and she blushes hard.

"Oh, so what is your excuse on not going to school today?" I ask as that is the main thing I was going to ask.

"Oh.. about that..." She says while fidgeting with her fingers. "Let's have some hot drinks inside and talk," She says and pulls my hand inside.

She goes to the kitchen and I'm suprised that her house is quite as big as my house. She brings me a cup of hot chocolate with melted marshmallows on top of it.

"Thanks" I say before taking a sip of it.

"How is it?" She asks.

"It's good," I laugh and continues to drink it.

"Okay, now hear me out," She starts to chuckles lightly.
