40 • In Pain

We both walk to the teacher's tent and meet Hae Jin saem.

"Oh? What's wrong? I thought the night activities should start in a few hours? Have you lit the fire?" He asks and I nod.

"I'm here for first-aid kit. Do you have it?" I ask and he kindly gives it to me. I open the kit and make Haneul sit in front of me.

"Don't be a child and listen to me," I say and she nods. I put the cream on her wound and cover it up with a cloth plaster on top of her arm. "Better," I accidently smile and she saw it.

"Do you want me to kiss it better?" I ask and she blushes. "Silence means a yes," I say and kiss her arm. I kiss on top of every plasters and stop my face in front of hers.

"You have some scratches on your lips," I whisper to her and she blushes. I was about to kiss her lips but she puts the back of her palm on top of her lips. And... I happened to kiss her hand.

"T-there's.. a lot of people. N-not here," She says while blushing hard.

"You're so cute," I say and caress her burning cheeks.

"What about your hand?" She takes a cold pack and press it on top of my hand. I actually hit the rock pretty hard when I brought the bucket full of water. But I don't want to tell her that because she would worry about me more and not taking care of herself.

After we have our tea time, we all sit together in front of the jungle. Daniel hyung stands in front of us and give us some talk about the night activity. So basically we have to walk in pairs in the jungle with the arrows on the tree. How scary is that?!

My turn is right after Haneul so she was holding my hand since the start. "I'm so scared," She says, in an urge of crying.

"Hey, it's going to be okay.. make sure you don't run okay? It would be dangerous. You could get another scratches maybe on your face," I say to relieve her tension.

"I can't!" She suddenly pulls me by my sleeve and hugs me tightly.

"It's okay. Walk slowly and I'll run after you. Then.. we can w-walk together," I say as my heart is beating so fast.

We wait for the others to go in the jungle and soon after that, it is Haneul's turn. She stands up and takes a deep breath. I can see that she is sweating so much so I get worried.

After five minutes of her being in the jungle, my name was called out to walk into the jungle. I jog in the jungle until I see a figure that is taking a step very carefully.

"Yaa, Song Haneul!" I shout and she nearly fall because she was shocked. I run to her and she immediately intertwine our hands together.

"I'm so scared," She says and I caress her hand. I stop in my track and she does so too.

"Look at me," I say and she looks up to meet my eyes. "It's okay. I'll protect you and we will end this together," I smile at her and she pinches my cheeks. We walk together slowly and we both reach somewhere bright. I look at the tree and it says to go straight until we reach the camp side again.

"It's nearly the end," I say and she smiles excitedly. I accidently stumble on the bumpy ground and somehow fall down on my knees. Haneul immediately come to me and kneel in front of me.

"Jihoon? Are you okay? Oh no, your pants are ripped," She says worriedly. "Oh.. your knee, it's bleeding," She says and I smile at her to relieve her worries.

"It's okay. Help me up." She puts my arm on her shoulder and helps me walk to the camp side.

"What happened to him?" Daniel hyung asks as soon as he sees us coming out from the jungle.

"He fell and scratches his knee. It's bleeding," Haneul says while huffing. Poor her, she must have been tired to help me walk through the whole activity.

"It's okay. Go and meet Gyuri Saem. She will help you with your knee. Haneul, go and company him," Daniel hyung says and I was quite shocked as I thought that he hate Haneul so much, but he isn't.

Haneul continue to bring me to the teacher's camp. "What is it now? Just now it's you and now it's Jihoon?" Gyuri saem asks and laughs.

"You will feel a little bit of tingling feelings when I pour this antiseptic alright?" She says before pouring the antiseptic on my knee. It's not tingling! It's a goddamn hurt! I strain myself from shouting because Haneul is there, watching me the entire time. I can see that she worries about me so much. I clench my fist as Gyuri saem clean out my wound.

"Thank god that it is just a big scratch and not an open wound or something. You can still do extreme sports tomorrow so don't worry," She says with a chuckle.

"Haneul, can you take him to his tent? Thank you," She says to Haneul.

"No, no. I can walk by myself," I say and smile at both of them.

"Don't be so childish. You should be grateful that someone worries about you a lot," Gyuri saem says while smiling suspiciously and Haneul's face goes bright red.

"I'll company you" Haneul says and walk me to my tent. I sit in front of my tent and Haneul sits in front of me.

"Please take care of yourself more. I don't want to worry about you anymore," She says and wow, that sentence hurt.

"Why?" I accidently blurt out my curiosity.

"Because it hurts my heart to see you in pain. So I don't like it," She says while blushing hard. I smile at her statements. Okay, that was a relieve.

"I'm sure they are having dinner. Go ahead and join them," I say and push her to go eat.

"I'll bring your dinner here and eat with you. That would make me feel better when I see you eat," She says and walk away to take my foods.

I never thought she would care for me that much. I chuckle as I see her come back with a plate full of food. She surely knows how to take care of me properly. I laugh and she smiles cutely when she puts the plate in front of my face.

"So am I supposed to eat this all?" I ask with a chuckle.

"Yup. And I'm going to eat mine" She shows me her plate and the food is so little.

"Did you pour half of yours into mine?" I ask and she laughs.

"No! I didn't" She laughs and I just nod to her.

I eat together with her and for the first time I think that we both really talk to each other naturally. Like we are both friend although I don't even know what we are, right now.
