Yesterday haunted my mind. What would have happened if Jack tried to kidnap me? Should I have attacked him to get him away from me? I was a fighter but I don't think I could have taken him. I could hardly pay attention to computing class but then I heard a familiar voice, "Cara? Are you ok?". It was Alex, as usual, he got to class late. He sits next to me and stares at my face. I have a blank look on my face. "No, I'm not ok," I say "What happened," asked Alex. "Nothing much other than I guy tried to follow me home," I say casually. "What! Are you serious?" he asks, he looks more concerned than me so I smile to calm him down. "Yeah, but I'm ok!" I point to my arm "See, nothing broken".
"You have to tell me who this guy is," Alex says "I don't want to get you involved" I respond. Alex looks annoyed, "Why are you acting like I'm going to go up to the guy and fight him?" he asks and all I can do is shrug my shoulders and attempt to change the subject. "Have you ever watched things burn?" I ask, he looks at me confused. "What do you mean?" he asks and I laugh. "I mean you set things and fire and watch them burn". I at Alex to see his reaction, it was both confused and creeped out. "Okay Cara, if you were my girlfriend then you would be a psycho", I look up at him and my mind runs a mile per minute. What did he mean 'If I was his girlfriend'? I pretended that what he said didn't shock me and I try to snap myself back into reality. There is no way Alex can like me, my curse won't let him.
