Ch.39 One last heroic act of a father

"Karai !" Leo shouts as he tries to reach for her but she was too far.

Karai looks up at him in fear, her left hand reaching for the jewel on the rock ledge.

"Just let the Jewel go Karai... it's not worth it" Leo said.

"I... I can't Leo... my mother spent years trying to obtain the Jewel cat's eye and now I final have it I can't just let it go" Karai said as she final grabs it.

But her hands start slipping. Karai gasps trying to hold on.

"Karai ! Drop the jewel and give me your hand !" Leo shouts, tears streaming down his face.

Karai's felt her hands slipping more but she just looks at Leo sadly.

"At least I'll finally be with my mother" Karai whispers.

She let's go.

Leo screams but he's suddenly shoved back by someone.

Someone grabs Karai's arm saving her from falling.

Karai opens her eyes and sees Shredder holding her arm, trying to pull her up. Shredder was beaten up with cuts and scratches all over his body. Shredder looks at Karai with tears in his eyes.

"I'm not going to loses you too" Shredder said.

Karai glares at him, not saying one word to him.

"Please Karai, daughter I'm begging you drop the jewel and give me your other hand so I can pull you up !" Shredder begs trying to pull her up.

"No I want to be with my mother ! The one person you stole from me ! So let me perish here !" Karai screams, hot tears streaming down her face.

Shredder in one last act of desperation, uses his free hand to reach for the small canister of mutagen X.

"(Give me strength)" Shredder whispers before injecting himself with the last bit of mutagen X.

"No !" Karai screams, fearing what might happen to him.

With his strength Shredder pulls Karai back up to the top and looks at her.

"Why did you do that ?! Now your going to die !" Karai shouts tears streaming down her face.

Shredder places his hands on top of Karai, placing the small silver neckleace in her hands.

"I made a vow that I would always protect you, even dying for you" Shredder whispers weakly.

"No" Karai whispers.

Leo quickly grabs Karai and holds her back.

"No Father !!!" Karai crys out.

Shredder looks at Karai one last time before his hand went to his chest. He squeezed his chest until he let's out a gasps and his eyes roll back. He falls back into the pit... never to be found again.

Shredder's heart had stop after too much mutagen X exposher.

Shredder the ruthlessly super villain that ever lived died saving his daughter that wasn't his.

Karai suddenly breaks down sobbing, Leo holds her, looking away from where the Shredder has fallen.

Leo quickly grabs Tigerclaw along with Karai and escapes.

Kirby bat flies down to a rooftop and lands on top of it letting Mikey and Shinigami go.

"We made it !" Mikey cheers as he hugs Kirby bat.

Mikey looks at Shinigami as she walks over to the rooftops as she solomon looks ahead of the darken skies as it rains.
