A few days ago Rose and Ashton put up flyers advertising auditions to play in the new coffee shop, record store conversion. So today a mic stand and stool in the corner, a small table and two chairs are all that remain in the bare record store. Rose arrives at the store around midday with Ashton. “Hi Mr. Irwin.” Ashton’s dad is already there doing some paperwork.
“Hi Rose, Ashton.” He greets the pair. “We had a fair amount of people respond for auditions. Think you two can handle it?”
“You don’t want to stay?”
“Nah, I trust the two of you and your music taste. That’s why I basically let you run the store. I have to go meet with the contractor about the blue prints and paint colors. I’ll be back in later.”
The first few auditions were decent, the next couple were awful, and finally one that caught their eye. A girl around their age clothed in a black dress, black ankle boots, and a red flannel hung on her shoulders. Her lips matched the color of the plaid, and her blonde hair hung straight stopping at her shoulders. “Hi my name is Margo and I’m going to be singing Keep Your Head Up by Andy Grammer.” As soon as she was done Ashton and Rose looked at each other and knew without words.
“That was great. We would really love it if you would play on our opening night in a few weeks!” Rose congratulates her.
“Seriously? Oh gosh thank you so much!”
“We will be in contact in the next few days once we get the line up set.” Ashton informers her. Margo slings her guitar onto her back, waving goodbye and leaves the store.
“I really liked her! She had a great energy!” Rose gushes once the girl is gone.
“I liked her too. But that leaves us with one act.” He huffs, shuffling through his papers of other auditions. “Unless.”
“Unless what?” Rose’s eyebrows are knit together in confusion.
“Don’t you play guitar?”
“Uh Luke used to teach me, but I’m not that good. Plus I don’t sing.”
“C’mon Rose. I’ve heard you singing to yourself at work, just play one song for me. It’s just me.” For as much shit that went on between her and Ashton, Rose felt comfortable around him. Knowing how persuasive and stubborn he was, she slowly made her way to the mic. With a shaky hand she picks up the guitar, strumming once to check the tuning. Besides having Michael to distract her from drinking she’s been practicing guitar on her own. Without her noticing, Ashton picks up her phone and begins recording a video.
“It’s you and me, it’s slow dancing to anything playing.
It’s us colliding, it’s never finding when we should say when.
I-I-I can feel it. When I look in your eyes so clearly.
I-I can see that you need me. And all that we was.
I-I can taste it. All the days that you’ve been wasting
I know that you can’t face them, and all that we were.
In a moment, you were everything to me.
In this moment
We’re living in a heartbreak dream.
They lyrics of Heartbreak Dream by Betty Who floated from her lips. “Rose!” Ashton exclaims. “That was incredible!” Shaking her head, causing pink hair to swish around, Rose disagrees. “Michael agrees.” He states simply, holding her phone out to show her.
“You recorded me? And sent it to my boyfriend?!”
“I knew you wouldn’t listen to me, I figured you listen to him.” Ashton shrugs. As mad as she was at Ashton, the gesture was sweet. He just wanted her to hear how good she was. The proud messages from Michael were pouring into her phone, she watched smiling like an idiot. “Call him, I’ll go grab lunch.”
Mkay so Rose is played by Demi Lovato so she she sings as amazing as Demi. Also I picture Margo as Bea Miller, a few years older though. I put her pic in the sidebar.
Just wanted to clarify some stuff. Umm yea I think i'm going to double update today so stay tuned!! :) keep voting and commenting! What do you think of Margo so far? xo -Rachel
