Her pink hair was tied in a messy bun on top of her head, leaned against the passenger side window. Her phone vibrates furiously in the cup holder. "Just answer it. That's the fifth time he's called." Luke scold from the driver's seat. He offered to drive knowing Rose would want to sleep the five hour drive back to San Francisco where her brother is.
"He'll know something's wrong and I don't want to talk." She mumbles. Rose had spoken to Ashton briefly telling him she'd be gone from work for at least a few days. But Michael didn't even know she had a brother, and would take much more explaining.
"Fine. Next time it rings I'm answering." Rose flips him off and closes her eyes once more. "Hey, pit stop. Got about two hours left." Luke shakes her arm waking her up. They are parked in front of an old gas station. The kind you see in scary movies where people get kidnapped. The sign above the door was blinking, as a few of the letters flickered out. Everything was coated in a layer of dust and rust. Rose slowly gets out of her small red car, stretching her limbs. She quickly walks inside to pee. "Her brother is sick. It's a five hour drive there." She heard Luke speaking into her phone as she opens the gas station doors.
"Lucas Robert!" She stomps towards the lanky boy.
"What? I told you I was answering next time it rang."
"Give me the phone." He hands the small device to her. "Michael?"
"Babe, I was so worried when you weren't answering. Are you ok? Why didn't you tell me?"
"I dunno. I just didn't want to have to explain everything right now. I'm sorry."
"It's fine. Do you want me come for support?"
"No I'm ok. I have Luke. And my my mom will ask a bunch of questions. She already knows Luke. I'll call you later, ok?"
"Alright. Bye beautiful."
"Bye, Mikey." She glares at Luke while getting back into the car.
After getting off the phone with Rose, Michael flings his across the room. He felt like such a clingy boyfriend already, and an asshole at that. How did he not know she had a brother? When she got back they needed some serious time to talk about things. "Hey man, you wanna go grab dinner?" Michael gets up following his friend out of the apartment. They pick a small diner and slide into a booth. They both order burgers and shakes. "So I wanted to ask you something." The dark haired boy says. "Um so I was thinking that if it was ok with you I want Teagan to move in."
"Wow. Yea that's fine. I don't see why not."
"Good. Thanks bro. I thought you'd be all high stress because of the date." Calum dives into the burger placed in front of him. Michael hadn't paid attention to the date much less the day of the week. Then it hit him.
"Oh God."
hmmm. thoughts on the date and why mikey is freaking?! xo -Rachel
