'Frustrated screeching comes from off screen. A figure cloaked in shadows runs past, the camera following their every move as they jump over a fence.
'Hurry, we don't have much time!'
'We're too late. The cover is already forming - The deadline's here!'

And that's what happens when you don't have a proper update schedule. Storytime over, kids.'
A chorus of groans emits from the small class, but most of them nod and start packing their things away. Only a small group - Ten kids, at max - stay where they are, shoving each other and giggling as they reenact their favourite parts from the story.

'We gotta save Nooch!'
'But we lost - Uh, what's his name?'
'Benja.'
'Right. If we go, we won't get Benja back!'

'Boys, don't you have anywhere to be?' The storyteller calls, smirking at the group as one of the youngest pulls a face.
'My momma's not gonna be at home.'
'I don't like my babysitter. She's mean.'
'Daddy's gonna be with Sara. I don't like her.'
Various protests come from the boys. The storyteller just shakes her head, but turns around and pulls another book from the shelf. 'Alright, since you guys are so interested in storytime, I'm gonna read you something... Different.'

'Mrs. Wolf, what's it about?' The oldest - A young boy, with a lopsided flower crown atop his head - asks, waving away one of his friends as they walked through the door. All the brunette does is smile, telling her "class" to sit on the large beanbags as she sits and crosses her legs.
'This story is about a group of heroes, many dimensions away in a world quite similar to our own. Have any of you learnt about our history yet?'

'Oh oh, pick me!'
'Alright kiddo, tell me what you know.'
'Uh, we've done med-meddie-meddie evil stuff. We had castles, and kings.'
'Very good. Anything about myths?'
'Misses? Like when Dante can't hit anyone in volleyball.'
'No, no, myths. Legends, ancient mythology - Have any of you guys heard of Keepers?'

'I have!' One of the younger boys, a young brunet clutching a slime plushie tightly calls out. 'They were like superheroes.'
'Uh-huh. What about hybrids?'
'People with animal thingies, right?'
'Yep. Now, who can tell me about a prodigy.'

The boys go silent. They haven't heard of this before.
'Ahah, got you there. Now, this is going to be a story of these myths, alright? And about a group of friends who defied the odds, and formed an alliance that could turn the tide on history. You could call it an... Unlikely Alliance. Now, let's begin.'
