About a month had passed.

The group bonded, they learned how to use their weapons and all that, but nothing was happening. It was like the world was just at a standstill.
Then, a messenger arrived. They sought an audience with the king, and since the two teams were already in a meeting at the time, they found out what had happened.

'The town of Boralin is under attack. They're saying that demons have surrounded the lands in search of some sort of relic.' She reported, adjusting her uniform nervously under the king's bored gaze.
'Send a team of knights to the location-'
'Once they finish in Boralin, there's a high chance the demons will move to other towns and villages. The people of your kingdom are terrified, my lord.' Seto interrupted, walking forwards as a spectral map appeared over the table.

'The latest reports have determine how badly damaged the town is. So far? Twenty deaths.'
Vik's blood ran cold. Any one of those deaths could be his family, his friends; The demons were attacking his home.
He didn't even look at the map, staring at an iron goblet one the table as sound seemed the blur away.

They're going to die, and I'm not there to help them.
...
...
...
The goblet turned to stone, before collapsing in on itself. Somebody touched his arm, but he jolted away and pushed himself away from the group.

'Vikram, control your-'
'How could you let this happen?'
Vik's tone was quiet, but brimming with malice as he stared the royal down. He didn't even notice that his ability was (technically) active past the magic barrier.
'Don't you dare take that tone. I am your king-'
'A fat lot of good you are! You're supposed to have guards posted around all of the villages of your kingdom, and the demons just forced their way through? My family have been put in jeopardy because you can't even organize your army!'

Lachlan moved towards his friend cautiously, touching his arm again and turning him around. 'Vik, we can go and protect them. It's our job, remember? We can go and get our weapons now, get the horses, and be there in an hour tops.'
'That won't be fast enough. They could destroy half the town by the time we get there!'

'I can teleport you in as soon as you get your weapons. I'll brief you as soon as you get there. My lord?'
Still glaring at the stone keeper, King Sebastian nodded his begrudging approval. Somehow outrunning the secondary team and his own, Vik sped towards the training hall.

Slamming the doors open, he looked around for the daggers and swung the belt over his shoulder before tapping his foot on the ground impatiently.
Five minutes later, the others only just finished getting their weapons as Seto walked through the doors. 'Alright boys, you know the situation already. They seem to be heading for the centre of the town, protect the people and slay the bad guys. Basic hero stuff. Lachlan, Ali and Kenny, you and Vik go and find Vik's friends and relatives. Everyone understand?'
Everyone understood.

A few seconds later, they appeared by the outskirts of the -previously flourishing-  town of Boralin. Seeing all of the flames and smoke just increased Vik's rage, and since they were out of the forcefield, anything could happen.
'Vik, before you go in there, I've created this visor. It should prevent your ability from freezing anybody it shouldn't. It also acts as a communication device, so you'll be able to contact me if anything goes wrong.' The sorcerer explained, handing over a slightly v-shaped piece of equipment. One thing he noticed after putting it on is that one side was red, one side was blue.
'I noticed that you liked that design, so I tried to incorporate it into the visor. Is it okay?'
'It's great, thanks Seto.' He nodded gratefully and turned to his smaller team, seemingly all ready to go.
