Half an hour in to Emory's class, he was already annoyed, the seventh years were acting up as more than half of them were more focused on the potions exam that was to take place within the next week.
Each time he caught someone doing potions revision or work he would deduct house points to the annoyance of those in that certain house.
But to both his and Nicole's dismay, he had deducted the most points from Gryffindor.
Only 10 points had been deducted from the Slytherin house as the one person who was caught revising for potions was Malfoy, and with one deadly glare from Tom, he packed away his potion books and carried on with translating the runes from the script they were given.
Emory was walking around the room, going around to see if people were doing the work or not, or to see if they were struggling in anyway.
Once Emory arrived at Ophelia's table, he walked around each of the girls looking over their shoulder's to see how well they were doing.
When he reached Ophelia, he picked up all the pieces of parchment filled with the translated runes, she had nearly complete the whole task that was set for this lesson and that was set for homework by Emory.
He chuckled to himself, as he read each word that came from the pieces of parchment.
Immense pride ran through him as everything was correct.
Ophelia could feel the burning sensation that came from her friends' eyes as they stared at her, envious as she managed to finish the huge amount of work that they were given within half an hour of the class starting.
"Well done, Lia. You never fail to let me down with your work," Emory smile down at Ophelia as he placed her work back on the desk.
"I wonder why that is?" Enoch Taylor spoke up from the back.
"Enoch, lay off it," an old friend of the group of girls spoke harshly to the boy next to her, Twyla looked to Ophelia with apologetic eyes and Ophelia dipped her head to her old friend.
"No, I've had enough," Enoch stood up from where he was sitting, "you act out, tell us off for revising for a subject that's way more important than this one, and when we do actually do work for you and we get it wrong, you yell at us. Oh, but that's never the case for Ophelia is it? She knows everything so that's okay."
"Enoch, stop!" Twyla called up to her boyfriend.
Tom, Avery, Orion and the rest of their table watched in amusement.
Ophelia's cheeks were now a deep shade of crimson red as she watched Emory stand there taking in everything that Enoch had said.
"You standing there, not saying anything proves my point exactly," Enoch yelled, "you're a terrible teacher, you should have never got this job in the first place, at least then you wouldn't be a miserable git when there's group tasks and Ophelia ends up working with Tom."
"First of all, one-hundred points from Ravenclaw," Emory spoke up, his posture was straight, his hands in his pockets and smile forming on his face as all the Ravenclaw pupils groaned at the points being deducted, "secondly, you absolutely have no right to stand there and argue against me. I do help each and every one of my students equally, and of course Ophelia is at an advantage as I've helped her with ancient runes in previous years, if you seem to be struggling in my class you should come and see me after class so I can help you, if not I suggest you drop my subject now as I'm not going to be the one to explain how you're the only pupil in this class going to fail my class."
Enoch looked confused as a mixture of chuckles from all directions of the room started to grow louder.
"I see that you're confused, Enoch, but everyone in this room has come to me when they've struggled with a certain topic, I actually host mini catch up sessions at Wednesday lunchtime, unfortunately you missed this weeks', but you're welcome to join us for the week's' session," Emory stood there proudly, "and as for my relationship with Ophelia, that is none of your concern or business, same for her relationship with mister Riddle. I've spoken about this one too many times, it does not matter who Ophelia is in a relationship with or who she works with, she is one of my pupils and I must not get caught up with a pupil's private life whilst I teach them at this school. Now, mister Taylor, you either sit yourself back down or leave my classroom at once, the choice is yours."
Enoch didn't say a word as he sat back down.
Everyone turned back around to their work, a few cheers came from Ophelia, Nicole, Dove, Starr as well as Iakona and Raine, who over the past seven and a half months became extremely close to the girls.
A low chuckle escaped Tom's mouth as he began to write again.
"Something funny, mister Riddle?" Emory looked over to where Tom was sitting.
Tom looked up his eyes narrowed together as he watched Emory lift his eyebrows asking the question he just asked but this time with facial expressions so Tom could answer faster.
"No, not at all, professor," Tom rolled his eyes and he shrugged.
"Well that's a terrible shame, I thought you of all people would have enjoyed the show," Emory shrugged as he walked back to his desk.
Ophelia looked over to Tom and started laughing as Tom failed to realised Emory was messing him about.
The class quickly got back to work after Enoch's little outburst, but at the back where he sat his girlfriend was in a foul mood with him, as he silently begged for her to forgive him Emory walked back around the tables.
He stopped to help Raine with one of the translations she was struggling with.
Emory remained there helping her for several minutes and some took this as an advantage to get their potions revision out.
Those who began to revise potions didn't hear professor Oliphant's conversation with Raine end, nor did they realise that Emory had caught each and every one of them revising for potions.
"I've had enough of this," Emory walked towards the door, he placed his hand to the side of his head, he scratched the skin under the hair on his head, "class dismissed."

Hello, sorry I haven't updated in a while, I've been very busy with school (exams and all that), but there a few things to say. Firstly, it's Ophelia's 91st birthday today (and my seventeenth)! Also, there are only 5 chapters left (including the epilogue) but the second book is undergo and I'm excited for you to read it, (fair warning; there is a huge time jump!), but for now, enjoy the last few chapters as I will have the book finished by the end of the week x
