Chapter 8

Sebastian came into my office and bowed.
"My Young Lord". My heart did a weird jumpy thing. I had missed that face, those ruby eyes, the jet black hair that seemed to swallow all light.
"Sebastian". I made my voice as flat as possible, as to not protrude any of the embarrassing feelings that just went through my mind. "Please tell me what happened Sebastian". I felt the pleading seep into my voice, but I honestly didn't care anymore. I wanted to know what had happened. Sebastian's perfect face twisted into a grimace.
"Are you absolutely positive Young Master?" A sudden wave of fear shot through me, but I nodded anyway. Sebastian started to walk towards me, eyes completely trained on my face. I could tell he was conflicted with what he was about to do, but he had made a decision. What was he going to do? He stopped suddenly and took a breath, as if re-evaluating his options.
"Please don't struggle Young Master, you will only make it harder on yourself". Now I was confused. Confused and scared. What?! My mind went blank as his pained maroon eyes stared into my terrified ones. He then bent down and pressed his lips to mine. My memories flooded into my head and tears started streaming down my face. Sebastian pulled away obviously pained. He backed away slowly; not sure what to do with himself. I felt a sense of calm wash over me, as I finally knew what I could do for my butler.
     "Sebastian". My voice was strong even though the tears kept coming. I waited for his eyes to focus on me. His sullen expression turned into one of surprise. "Thank you". I smiled at him through the tears, my first real smile in over 4 years. I realized that he actually felt something for me. He hadn't kissed me just to tease me. Relief washed over his features, making his face look as beautiful as I felt in that moment.
     "Anything for you, my lord"
