Stand By Me (Eren x Reader AU)

Chapter 5 - Late Night

If this gets posted late...it's because I kept trying to write this at night and listened to the asmr at the same time...and ended up falling asleep 😂 I don't know why but something about storms make me sleepy.

Reader's Pov:

I clung onto Eren's arm as he led us back to his room. "I'll let you wear one of my shirts and shorts for the night." He told me.

He opened up his closet and handed me the (f/c) shirt before heading over to his drawer and grabbing a pair of black shorts.

I quietly thanked him and reluctantly made my way to the guest bathroom. I changed into the clothing Eren provided me before texting Reiner that I was staying the night at Eren's due to the bad storm.

I gathered up my clothes and began to turn the knob of the bathroom door until I heard a crack of thunder. I whimpered and hugged my clothes close to my chest.

There was a sudden knock on the bathroom door, causing me to yelp. "Sorry (Y/n). Are you okay?" Eren asked. "Eren...help me." I whimpered.

Without hesitation, Eren opened the door and brought me into his arms. I sobbed into his chest as he picked me up and carried me to his room.

He sat down on his bed and pulled me closer to his body. I buried my face deeper into his chest as I heard another crack of thunder. I whimpered in fear until Eren began humming to calm me down.

My sobs had died down into muffled hiccups. Eren continued to hum and began to rock me in attempt to calm me down completely.

Just fall asleep inside my arms

But tonight...you're right here with me

My hiccups calmed down and I just remained snuggled in Eren's arms. "Thank you.." I said quietly.

"You're welcome...let's keep your mind off the storm, huh?" He asked in a teasing tone. I smiled and nodded in agreement.

A soft knock was heard on the door, and Eren gave permission for the person to come in. Carla came in with cookies and she gave us a soft smile, until she took another look at us. Her smile grew even bigger.

"Aww, you two look so cute all snuggled up together!" Carla said. I blushed when I realized that we were snuggling due to my fear. Curse you, thunder.

"M-Mom! She's just scared! That's all!" Eren defended. Carla laughed before setting the cookies down on Eren's nightstand. "Yes yes, of course. Anyway, I made cookies in case you two get a little hungry throughout the night. If you don't mind, (Y/n), I'll wash your clothes so you'll have clean clothes to wear in the morning."

"Thank you." I responded. "My pleasure." She said as she gathered up my clothing. "I'll leave you two be, now. Have a good night!" She then leaves the room while closing the door behind her.

"So what do you want to do first?" Eren asked. I flinched as another crack of thunder rumbled throughout the house. "How about watching YouTube videos? That always calms me.." I offered.

"Sounds like a plan. But if the power goes out, we gotta think of something else." Eren stated. "If the power goes out...I'm screaming my head off and getting the salt." I retorted.

He chuckled and grabbed his phone from his pocket. He chose that we would watch our favorite youtuber, (F/Y) (favorite youtuber).

I held the phone and sat in between his legs, my back to his chest. I saw that the time was about midnight, and I wasn't in the least tired due to the storms.

After a few videos in, his grip around my waist had gotten tighter and his free hand had made it's way up to my hair. I began to question his actions, but I had a couple reasons not to. I loved the feeling because I felt protected, and because he was playing with my hair, I was too sleepy to question him.

"Hm...thunder has been going on and you haven't even flinched." Eren mumbled. It sounded like he was also tired. Was he perhaps enjoying this position, too?

Eren's Pov:

I loved this position we were in. She was in my arms, and she wasn't fighting against me. I was playing with her hair...something I've been wanting to do since the last time I had played with her hair.

This position relaxed me. I felt like I could be here forever and not get tired of it. Though, I was kind of tired. It was about 3 in the morning, and we were still watching YouTube.

"It's because I'm very relaxed." (Y/n) said with a yawn. I chuckled. "Yeah, I can tell. Want to try and sleep?" I asked.

"Yeah...but on one condition.." She said. "What's that?" I asked as I turned off my phone. That's when she began to hesitate. "(Y/n)?" I asked.

"Can you...um...sleep in bed...with me? Please?" She asked.

My eyes widened at her request, but I quickly shook the shock away, remembering her situation. "Yeah, s-sure."

Eren: That was supposed to be a cliffhanger?
Me: Shut up, Eren! You're just ready to get in (Y/n)'s pants!
Eren: AH! Author-Chan! Don't say things like that!
