Jack stared in shock at his ex. Her emerald eyes shone a green fire, the rage in her eyes said it all. She knew everything. And so did he. Jack sighed, "Look- it's complicated okay?" Ace shook her head, "Not anymore it's not! I'm not in that god damn hell so you can tell me everything that you knew!" Jack looked around before grabbing her arm and pulling her towards the garage. Ace's eyes widened in confusion. "What? Where are we going? Stop!" Jack shook his head, dragging her along behind him, despite her attempts to stay put. He pushed her into the Audi R8 and got into the drivers seat and starting the engine. Ace tensed as the radio turned on, blasting an all to accusing song. Jack paid her no mind as he sped through the streets of Gotham, past the penthouse and route to the mansion. Ace watched as they pulled into an alley and the car came to a stop. "Jack? Where are we? What's going on?" Ace watched as he got out of the car and immediately followed him, hauling the duffle bag over her shoulder. He was walking down the alley and stopped at a door a few yards away from her. He fumbled through his keys as she approached. The lock on the door clicked as he turned a gold keg in its lock. "Come on." He said pulling her into what looked like the backstage of a strip club. Ace looked around while Jack closed and locked the door behind them. Ace glanced back at him confused, "What is this? Why are we here?" Jack smiled sadly walking through the curtain to the main area that consisted of a large bar, some stripper poles, table and chairs. Jack walked over to the bar and grabbed a bottle of whiskey, pooping the cap and downing nearly half the bottle before Ace plucked it from his hands. Jack glared at her as she met his glare with a grin look in her eyes. "Isn't it a little early for alcohol?" She said. Jack shrugged, "needed something to drink before we start this." Ace raised an eyebrow, "and what exactly is 'this'?" She asked, Jack frowned, nodding to the empty seat next to him. Ace took the seat and leaned back, Jack grabbed the whiskey and took a gulp. "After you were... Taken..." He started. Ace flinched, her memories of that night were vague. If he questioned her about it, she doubted that he would let her live after question three. Jack went on, "A few days later, I was drinking myself drunk when Warlock told me you were alive." Ace's eyes perked with interest. "I went to Oblivion and back looking for you..." He trailed off taking another gulp of whiskey. "After nearly six months of searching, I met Kayla." Ace flinched at the name. Jack noticed her discomfort and stopped. "Do you want to take a break?" He asked. Ace shook her head, "No- I need to know this. But... Why did you tell everyone else I was dead?" Jack narrowed his eyes and took a gulp from the whiskey. "Isn't it obvious? One of them had ratted us out and I didn't know who. If I publicized the fact or even the mere idea that you were alive, they would have killed you on the spot." Ace frowned and pulled her knees to her chest. "What made you stop?" She whispered. Jack sighed leaning back in his seat. "I don't know, I guess I figured you weren't coming back and I had to move on. And I did." Ace nodded, holding back tears. "You had every right." Jack frowned at her, she looked pitiful. He drank the whiskey slowly, savoring the bitter taste. "You know, your going to have to accept the way things are now- cause with everything that's happened, there's no going back." Ace nodded, biting her lip to hold back the screams of rage and pain. Jack stood and moved back behind the bar, sorting through the liquors. He popped open the cap of some vodka and poured some into a shot glass with some grenadine and a cherry, before sliding it over to her. Ace smiled sadly. He remembered her favorite. She took the cherry vodka and downed it, popping the cherry in her mouth. Jack chuckled stretching in his seat. "You haven't changed a bit, have you love?" Ace laughed, leaning forward batting her eyelashes at him. "Mmm somewhat..." Jack smirked leaning forward so his face was mere inches from hers. "You know, I suppose we could work out some sort of, say arrangement?" Ace giggled deviously, "What did you have in mind?"

Jack opened the door to the alley, looking around before opening it fully and escorting his ex out of the nightclub. They walked down the dark alley towards the car when Ace stopped. Jack frowned turning to her. "What is it?" He asked. Ace looked up at him, her eyes wide with fear. "They're here." Jack moved towards her, glancing around into the shadows for any sign of movement. Ace stiffened as an all to familiar chuckle came from behind her. "You really thought you could get away, didn't you?" Jack watched as Ace remained frozen as William Griggs stepped out of the shadows and brushed by her. "You know I will always find you, princess..." Ace's eyes widened and she lashed out, striking William violently. William staggered and fell back as his former prisoner pinned him. Jack watched as Ace put her foot down on William's throat, cutting off his oxygen. Her emerald eyes showed nothing but pure rage and hatred for the man. "I already told you- I ain't going back to that prison. No way in hell." Jack frowned as he saw her eyes glazing over in that all to familiar green haze. "Ace- that's enough." Ace had completely zoned him out, her emerald eyes were ablaze with rage as she pressed down harder on William's throat, Jack watched as the man below her let out a chuckle before he began gasping for air inbetween. Jack stepped forward pulling her back and towards the ferrari, leaving William in the alley. Ace glared at her ex, her eyes cold and cruel. "Why did you let him live?!" She demanded. Jack didn't answer her. He didn't know why he'd let William live. And he didn't want to.
