The bellow is a poem by my best friend, who, after finding out about this book, asked me whether I'd include her poem. After this, this book will return to strictly my poetry (if she asks me to include more of her poetry, I'm just going to make her get her own account. She's extremely talented and should be sharing her writing under her own name!)
Please enjoy, and show ABH some love!
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Let the cold air slip over your chapped lips
And wander down your endless throat,
till it finds and fills your calloused lungs
let the warmth escape calmly out your nose,
Count and treasure each inhale and exhale,
For soon there will be no sensation for you to speak of.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Let the floodgates in your eyes loose,
Precious Energy can be put to better use.
Let Those beautiful gems fall down your cheeks,
Let them roll over your jaw, translucent, pure,
Pooling in your lap and catching the light,
Shining out beacons of relief.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Let the shudders of pain wash over you,
The crunching and churning stomach
Is naught but nerves made physical.
The spasms of muscles do not harm,
It gives a chance to stretch your limbs,
The tingling in your extremities,
They are sensations to stimulate your mind.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
You needn't wait long now,
Your heart is slowing to beat in time with the ticking of the clock,
The depth of your eyes is being drawn within,
Reaching down to a place of peaceful rest.
Listen now to the noises that engulf your ears,
The birds that serenade you and my voice... I hope you remember.
Ignore the incessant beeps of the mechanical beings that attach to you,
They need not be acknowledged.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Shut now your eyes and remember your life in blissful melancholy,
Let your beautiful features no longer strain in an attempt to continue.
I bid you sleep.
For all, but your happiness will subside,
Your pain will exist no more.
You can let go
though the world will lose something beautiful,
To let you be free is more important than the universe
My darling.
Breathe in,
Breath out.
Breathe.
