For they were both solitary,
she on earth,
he in heaven;
separated by impossibility,
by heaven and earth.Yet he wooed her with caresses,
with his smile of golden sunshine;
he wooed her with purest love,
reserved for hearts made of purest gold.But her heart had been tainted,
marked beyond repair,
by the dark side of humanity.Reduced to scratched metal,
irreversibly dented bronze.
