I'm alive
I'm alive because I feel pain
I feel so much emotional anguish
it has manifested itself into
physical illness
manifested itself into physical pain
I have a soul
I have a soul because I continue to feel
continue to feel the emotional anguish
continue to be physically ill
continue to feel the pain that
shudders its way down every nerve
every molecule of my being
I am alive
and I have a soul
and even though today
I cry out for help
cry out in pain
I know there is a tomorrow
