'There always was an argument between some families right? Especially when one of your parents was a god.'

Flashback:

My mom was Athena. She always hated Poseidon for leaving her. ALWAYS. All his family was bad in her eyes. But was Xinlong bad in her eyes? Just because he is Poseidon's son doesn't mean he is like him. I know he's better than his dad. The choice of leaving Athena wasn't the great idea he ever made. And it was the worst one. My mom cursed his future children with all the bad wishes she ever had. He Xinlong was one of them. He was cursed to die in the next Olympic games. I was the only one who know this as I could read the future. I didn't want to tell him. I was scred that maybe his dad would curse me worse than this. The only cure was someone to take his curse.

I was always sneaking out of my house in the middle of the night, to meet my friend, He Xinlong. We were both meeting in the forest near Olympia. No one knew we were there because no one could see us coming there.

One night we climbed in the tree house, we found before we met. That was the place where we knew each other.

"Let's promise that even if our parents are in war, we will never break our friendship" we vowed at the same time. And even if we were 10 years old, we didn't care about the family war. Who did? Well... My mom. We were playing with some cards in the cabin and at a point I felt my heart so heavy. I had to say what I feel. "Xinlong.... I...I-i like you" I said and suddenly I heard some steps coming. I didn't care but when I saw who was in the front of the door, I understood perfectly that I'll never see my friend again. Athena was there.

"Good trick miss, but I found the pillows under your blanket" she said and I looked at Xinlong hoping we will still be friends. He  nodded and my mom grabbed my wrist. I had tears in the eyes. I was too weak to hold them anymore. From that day I didn't talk to Xinlong again. We were acting like strangers. He never replied to what I said.

Present time:

I was preparing my bow for the olimpic games. I was currently 16. I had 3 more days. I had to stay alive as much as I could. But I felt too much weakness in my body. I couldn't stand these games. I couldn't fight with Xinlong. I still wanted to see him but I think he moved on already. He was stronger than me. All the tears I had weren't enough to face my first love at those merciless games. I couldn't think about seeing him hurt. I couldn't think about him hurting me either.

The starting ceremony started and I saw the Gods all there. Looking at our hopeless faces.

"I'm Y/n, daughter of Athena and I will hurt everyone who tries to hurt me" I said. And after some time Xinlong had to do the vows for the competition. "I'll kill everyone who stands in my way". His words scared me.

"May the odds be with you" Hera, the good of the family said. And the games started. We were kids from all the Gods. And because Artemis didn't have kids, she came with one of her handmaidens. All of us could come with only one weapon so I choosed the bow because this was the only thing that fitted me. The games were in a forest so I could hide everywhere.

I ran through the woods, trying not to get inflicted on any fight until I get familiarized with the place. I had lots of plans. But none of them could be used now. I was alone and no one could help me. I climbed up on a tree to see better the thing that were hidden. Like bandages, food or drinkable water. Ugh. Nothing was there.

I saw Hecate's son coming in the direction I was at and before I knew he threw a flying knife at me. Gosh. I took my biw and an arow and pointed it at him. I hit the boy in the chest and he dissapreared. Woah... I never thought I'll kill someone but Athena was controlling a part of me. She was there, in my mind. Telling me what I need to do. And if I didn't listen to her, she could kill me. We were just like some dolls, they were using to prove who's better.

Next day:

I don't have any supplies now so that means anyone could kill me. Nothing to eat, nothing to drink. I even had a cut on my left arm because of Ares's daughter. She hit me with that spear. Merciless. Like her dad. I was injured, walking hopeless to the center of the forest, where I could maybe find something to eat.

On the way there I glanced at a river and I saw Xinlong fighting with Zeus's child, Abby. Xinlong was almost fried by a lightning. Woah.  I hid behind a tree and took my bow. I aimed at the girl. If I can hit her leg, then she'll be out of balance and will fall. Then it will be easy for the boy to finish with her. I let the arrow flow until it came in contatcelt with the girl's flash. Xinlong made a wave and it suffocated her. "We did it." I said. Too loud. He heard me.

I had a foot on the river so I couldn't step out. "Please don't kill me" I said. But it was too late. Athena's curse started to make it's effect. That wasn't Xinlong anymore. His eyes were now red like blood. He came running to me. Looking like a demon. Just one second and I could die, he could just suffocate me like he did with the girl from before. We were the last ones in this game. He raised a sphere of water and said  "Run! Please run!". I saw him getting weaker and weaker by the seconds passing. He was dying. Not even the water could save him. I didn't want him to die.

I came closer to him and looked into his eyes. They were filled with pain. I knew the end was coming. But I couldn't let it happen. So I kissed him. This was how all the stories were ending right. But this wasn't the end. He regained his power. And I fell in his arms. Dying. I took his curse.  The last thing I saw was his face, tears dropping down his cheeks saying for the last time.

"I love you"
