Owen Grady was sitting down on a bench just outside the Raptor paddock with his good friend and colleague, Barry.
They were discussing Blue's behaviour towards Owen, she in a way looked up to him as a father figure.
Just as Owen was about to say more, he heard his name being called from the communication shed just a few yards away. "Hey Owen, there's a call from your sister here" one of the workers yelled, holding the phone in his hand.
Owen rose to his feet and headed towards the shed, he was slightly anxious His sister never called him unless he was back on the main land
Why was she calling him now?
"Hey Ally, what's up?" Owen said trying to sound as calm as he possibly could, but his sister was a psychiatrist so she could tell very easily when someone was lying... just like he was now with his fake and happy persona.
"Owen for god sake I'm not currently mad at you, I'm calling about Maddison" Ally said with a sigh of frustration.
Maddison was Ally's 17 year old daughter She was currently in an apprenticeship with a well known palaeontologist... who just so happened to be her godfather as well. Maddison was a very intelligent young woman that was looking at a very bright and early future of college and university.
"What about Maddy?" Owen asked, leaning against the doorway of the shed.
"She's... been arrested this afternoon for shoplifting at the mall" Ally said, disappointment clear in her tone.
"Is she okay? What's happened to her? Is she in jail?" Owen bombarded his sister with numerous questions about his niece.
"She's being kept in a holding cell right now, but..." Ally didn't have time to finish before Owen went crazy "Why haven't you gotten her out yet? What was so important that you couldn't go and get your daughter from jail? You and Billy bangin' again?" Owen questioned his sisters irresponsibility for not caring for her daughter enough.
"Owen!?" Ally exclaimed, shocked at her brothers rudeness toward her "Sorry" he muttered.
"The reason I haven't gone to get her yet, is because I have been booking a flight to the island for tomorrow night, I've gotten everything first class so then there's no..." Owen yet again cut his sister's sentence short and butted in.
"Whoa whoa whoa, since when are you coming back to this place after what happened the last time you were here" Owen said in shock.
You see when the old park was first opened, Ally was invited to the island by John Hammond... and it wasn't the exciting weekend that she was expecting.
The horrifying reminder of those events were all over her arms and legs from being attacked by a Velociraptor, Ally was only ten at the time and it not only scared her physically but mentally too.
While Ally got to see the kind man that Alan Grant really was, Owen saw the not so kind version... but he did find Owen a knew liking.
A liking for Raptors.
His sisters least favourite thing to talk about.
"When did I say that I was coming, do you remember what happened last time I was on that island?" Ally said in disbelief of how dumb her twin brother was being.
"I'm sending Maddy over to you Maybe you'll be able to straighten her out a little, spend some time with her at least... but I don't want her to know why I'm sending her, do you understand?" Ally said, her voice almost begging.
"Alright I'll take care of her, but she better not interfere with what goes on here" Owen said getting his sister to shut up.
"I'm gonna go pick her up now, then I'll get Billy to take her to the airport as soon as possible" Ally said before hanging up the phone.

The Following Evening
Maddison sat on the helicopter that was taking her to the island, her headphones on her head, listening to the latest Slipknot album.
There were three other people on the chopper, one a little bit of a scaredy-cat when it comes to being up high, the other two were just a pear of chatterboxes.
Maddy sat as close as she could to the window, as far away from theses weirdos as she possibly could get in this confined space she was stuck inside.
Why did her mom have to send her all the way over to Central America? Probably because her parents were getting a divorce in secret, they probably planned on getting her dad moved out of the house while she was gone.
She just knew that was the case, and in her fit of rage when she discovered her parents divorce papers, she decided to take her anger out on a poor store worker when he tried to stop her from stealing a t-shirt at the mall.
That's probably why her dad looked so sad when he left her at the airport, he was just so disappointed.
Maddy enjoyed seeing her uncle, but it was like only once or twice a year Being Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, any other time of the year she'd have to call him in order to have some form of contact with him.
This year he'd already told them he couldn't make it home because of work.
But now she was getting to see him before the end of the year, she briefly spoke to him on the phone the day before, after her mom bailed her out, he sounded pretty stoked to be seeing her.
Maddy was a little nervous about seeing the very things that she only ever saw as a small child in a museum.
But now they were alive and roaming around an island.
From what her mom told her about how the island used to be, it sounded so beautiful and mesmerising.
Most of the herbivores were so gracious to watch walk freely through the trees. Ally even said that the T-Rex was one of the most amazing things that she'd ever laid her eyes on.
Just before Ally met a gruesome death, said T-Rex saved her life and the rest of her group from the Raptors.
The same T-Rex whom is still living on the island right now.
A sudden jolt made everyone aware that the chopper was beginning to land. Maddy shoved her phone and headphones into her bag and buckled down ready for the worst landing in history. The scared man sitting in the corner let out a few small squeals and yelps like he was a sad puppy.
As soon as the chopper hit the ground, Maddy was off and out the door within seconds. The flight attendant was dumbfounded that she just jumped off. Maddy scanned the area for her uncle until she spotted him, talking to his boss Claire Dearing.
He carried on flirting with her until his face was cupped by Claire's hand and she shoved it in the direction of Maddy standing just a few feet away with her arms crossed and a sly smirk pulling at her lips.
Owen smiled at his niece as she sprinted into his strong arms. "I missed you" Maddy mumbled into his chest. "Missed you too" Owen replied back, kissing the young girl on her forehead before leading her into the park.
