After the incident with the park, Maddy went home, got the medical attention she needed, her boyfriend decided he didn't want to be in a relationship with someone who'd been arrested for theft and assault.
Her parents got fully divorced, her mom got a pay rise in her line of work as a psychiatrist and her dad became a mechanic in Ohio. After all, he'd had quite enough of dinosaurs after he'd almost lost his life on Sorna.
Maddy tossed her ambition to become a palaeontologist aside, and joined the army.
The money her parents had been saving for her education went on to buying her a house in California, a truck and a Rottweiler she called Bill.
The family living next door to Maddy would watch over Bill when she was away in the army.
Maddy never spoke to Claire or Owen after the incident, and by the time Maddy turned eighteen a few months after she left the park, she basically just up and left and hardly ever spoke to her parents again.
Until a few months ago, when her dad died in a motorcycle accident, she briefly spoke with her mother, but the one person that she wanted to be there wasn't.
Maddy hadn't seen her grandfather in ten years, she thought that her father being his son and all, would mean that he would be present for his funeral.

Maddy had been home for a good three weeks, she never really had much of a social life since she moved out of her home in Montana.
Everyday would start and end the same way.
Maddy would get up around six or seven am, get dressed and run around the entire town with Bill at her side on his leash.
She'd come home, have a shower and get changed into something comfortable, preferably a baggy T-shirt and sweatpants.
Then she would either read, look at old photos and videos on her computer, Bill at her side for most of the time. On occasions she would go and get her weekly groceries before she went back into her routine.

Maddy was sitting at her computer looking at the photos of her dad when she was a little kid.
She missed him so much, mainly because she spent most of her life with him, a lot more than she spent with her mom.
Ally was always working, and when she eventually came home she would be drained from listening to other people's problems instead of listening to her own child.
Bill came over and laid down beside her, his nose sniffing at the small bag stuffed underneath her desk. Her old camera was in there She hadn't touched it since... the park.
Maddy took the bag into her hands, brushing off the layer of dust that had built up out of disuse. It didn't turn on as she pressed the power button, she suspected the batteries were dead.
Changing them and hooking the cord up to her computer she waited for the images to appear.
It took a moment for the camera to reboot as the images slowly began to appear on the screen.
She remembered taking the pictures, each one of a different dinosaur. Ranging from Apatosaurs to infant Gallimimus, Maddy smiled pleasantly as she flicked through the images on the screen.
But that smile didn't last long, as the next picture made her eyes fill with tears.
The image was of Maddy in her dads arms, the two smiling happily as her mom took the picture, Ally's thumb sticking out at the bottom of the screen.
Maddy remembered the picture being taken.
She was eleven years old, it was her birthday to be precise. She flicked over to the next one, this one was of Owen holding Maddy in his arms as he was about to throw her into her parents's swimming pool.
She clicked onto the next one, this one was a video.
"Don't do it Owen, I swear to god I will kill you if you throw her in that pool" Ally yelled as she held the camera, pointing it at Owen with Maddy in his arms. "Owen don't!" Maddy cried as she clung to Owen's neck tightly.
Maddy's dad pushed on Owen's back and the two tumbled into the freezing cold water.
The video ended abruptly as Ally slammed the camera down onto a nearby table, cutting off the recording. Maddy looked down at Bill as he still lay at her feet.
There was a knock at the front door. Bill's eyes lifted slightly, but then closed as he returned to his peaceful slumber.

Maddy hardly got any visitors, it was odd that someone was on her property.
Maddy went over to the door, she hadn't installed the peephole yet, she'd been meaning to but she was just too tired to do anything outside of her routine.

There in front of her... was her grandfather.
