Blood never mattered to me
When it came to you
Blood was just a liquid
A substance in my veins
I knew the difference
It was as plain as night and day
Yet still in my heart
my soul,
my mind
You were my sister
The one with whom numerous secret smiles were shared
The person with whom while in your presence
Laughter was always a constant
The person who had so much to tease me about
But couldn't cause I had just as much
The person responsible partly for me chewing in class
The person with whom I didn't care for
Just cause of their DNA
In there veins
because blood isn't everything
Loyalty and friendship is
