I liked you so much that was true
And I know you had liked me too.
You had hurt me with your words
With you ways.
Yet you hadn't seem to care.
That I was slowly cracking
Under the pressure that came with liking you
The way you laughed with her
I had wished you would do that with me too.
But yet I only got to watch from afar
Never hearing or experiencing that sound she heard all the time
The day she left
A part of you came back
The part I liked, nothing lasts forever
And before I had a chance to fully see it was gone in a flash
like lightning on a open sky
Time passes by and older we have gotten
Over you is a phrase I now commonly tell my bestie
but deep in my heart under a lock and key
a part of me will always hope to be
Your girl
