What does Christmas mean to me Well sometimes christmas isn't all It's cracked up to be To me sometimes Christmas get too artificial Too unreal
Sure the lights are beautiful And the thought of giving a gift is nice But what happened to celebrating Christmas just for the family
A tree with mismatched decorations The star tilting down The lights are blinking Because one isn't working
Or to me the best and the hardest to give The gifts that sit under the tree Waiting to be opened Maybe it's the gifts that are given with A smile or hug Might even be a wish of holiday cheer
Most people always want expensive things They forget that money isn't everything They want fancy things Jewellery and shoes galore
Sure those things are nice to get And heck I wouldn't mind getting it But what happened to the feeling The tingles we get When someone opens something that the wanted
Something with meaning That when you see You'll remember "Hey! someone cared for me Enough to buy something Just for me"
But I'm no grinch And I don't plan to be Celebrate Christmas how you please Give what you want Receive what ever you please
But Christmas to me Will always be about The feelings and the memories I receive Being with my friends and family Jess
Spread some holiday cheer even if you don't feeling like it yourself Sing a song while walking or simile to a stranger Who knows the love might grow until you receive some back and even if you don't Well at least you can look back and say you tried
