Chapter 14: Twit Cam Time
"Ah, Saturday." I sighed to Dorina, mixing the eggs and milk for the french toast batter, adding a splash of vanilla for good measure. I was thinking last night to myself remembering when I first met Jana. They had been talking abut something. I didn't know what it was, but I remember being a little weary of it all. I needed to figure out what their plan was. And I knew it was something not so good...
I added that to my mental to-do list, crossing off the whole Niall situation. I also know knew why Zayn didn't like me. He was afraid that I would turn out exactly like Becky. But he was wrong, hopefully he now realized that.
I decided to turn my attention back to the task at hand, flipping the toast, sprinkling some more cinnamon. "Laila. Are you... have you been okay?" Dorina asked me, getting out the plates and laying them out. "Of course, Dorina. Why wouldn't I be?" I responded, pausing and biting my lip. "I dunno, you seem a bit..." she stopped, searching for the right word. "Distant." she concluded. I continued flipping.
"Well, everythings been so busy, since... y'know. And really stressful, but I'm fine. Totally fine."
"Are you sure though? If you ever need someone to talk to, you know you can always come to me, right? You know that. I bet its hard right now, dealing with everything from all angles."
"Yeah, yeah, of course." My eyes were tearing up and my palms were hot with sweat. I didn't want to seem weak, I didn't want to seem... cracked. "It's just. It's just been really difficult." I choked back a sob. Dorina clunked down her plate and rushed over to me, pulling me in for a deep hug. "Laila, it's okay." I let out a soft sob into her shoulder. "It's so hard. So confusing." I breathed. "I'm so sorry. I have no clue what to say to make it better, Laila." I cried even harder, realizing that no one knew how I felt. No one. I was lonely. "I don't want you to say anything. Just hug me a little longer, okay?" My body shook as I took in a deep breathe, Dorina's shoulder now wet with tears.

I was in the car with Dorina, driving down to meet Nidia at her motel, the radio blaring, windows rolled down and wind blowing our hair, whipping it around. This is why I moved here with her, she's the best person to be around, her bright witty comments and how tender she always was. It made me really appreciate what kind of friend she was. An incredible one. The road started to get dustier as we pulled into the drive to see a happy Nidia waiting by the side of the road. She was wearing bright teal coloured skinnies, beige Doc Martens, bright red lipstick which complimented her dazzling white smile and a puzzle-piece patterned neon off-the-shoulder sweater. Wowzers, she was eccentric looking. I gave her a confident wave, beckoning to come and get in. She's stunning, I thought as we welcomed her into the car. Her blonde hair had been braided back to the side and her eyes were big and bright. Soon, we were back on the road, laughing at a story Nidia had told us about the motel manager. We were all getting along pretty well. I wasn't even sure if Nidia knew that I was dating Harry... or Zayn, whichever way you wanted to look at it, I suppose. "It sucks having no internet connection though." Nidia mentioned, scrolling through her phone. "The motel's signal is terrible." she added. So, I guess she didn't know, I mean, twitter had exploded with trends about #Zora and tumblr was full of GIFs of me kissing Zayn, excuse me, Zayn kissing me . I couldn't help but notice that on Nidia's forearm was the exact same tattoo that Zayn had of the hand with the fingers crossed. Weird. "Nice tattoo." I told her, giving her a smile, glancing at it again. She quickly pulled her sleeve down over it. "Oh, uh, thanks." she muttered.

"DING-DONG!" I yelled into the Styles household before walking in. This was gonna be quite the shock to Nidia, I almost felt guily for dragging her here into this whole situation. I could feel Dorina tense up behind me as well. Soon, something caught my eye in the bush to the left of the door though, something rustling. I knew exactly what it was. "Erm, go on in!" I ushered Dorina and Nidia into the house, ahead of me. I heard Nidia tell Dorina "Wow, Laila's house is so cute!" Before Dorina said "Well, it's not her house exactly."
