Jump back to the 80's
where the floor was always crowded
and artists like me were welcome,
where neon clothes were in style
and pants and tops were skin-tight,
where disco ruled the world
and abstract filled the canvas,
where bold was mainstream
and drugs were on the scene.
Leave me at peace with
Elton John,
David Bowie,
and Blondie,
Michael Jackson,
Queen,
and Bon Jovi.
Careless and reckless,
naked and free,
I desire to live
in this fantasy.
But as much as I wish,
As much as I try
Dreams and happiness won't get me by.
So, I'll live through this world
of mindless landscape
and listen to the color
of my mix-tape.
