Time Jump to winter!!

{Recap of the past few months}

1. The lacrosse team went undefeated and I decided not to play for the indoor winter season, so I can spend time with Jake, friends, and family before college (in the summer I'll be working).

2. Jake and I are obviously still together, he did an official "ask out" from a romantic dinner.

3. My relationships with them and Tyler are still the same.

4. It's now term 2, so I finally got to change seats in Physics and English.

5. Christmas has passed and I received a necklace from Jake with a "J" on it and it's my lucky charm since then.

{January}

  Term Two has finally hit and nothing has dramatically changed. Tyler and them are still awful and I'm still in love with Jake.

I drive to school now that it's cold outside and we live in Upstate New York. Louise finally got a car from Christmas, so I don't have to pick her up anymore either.

I shove my bag in my locker, the usual, and head over to Jake's locker, the usual too.

"Hey babe," Jake said as I approached his locker.

I just smiled, but then said, "Wanna come hang at my house after school? My parents won't be home."

"You still never told our parents we were a thing?" He asks. "But yeah sure."

"No I did, I'm just saying we will have some alone time," I lied, I know what's going to happen if I tell them.

"Oh okay," he says shutting his locker as we part ways to first period.

{After School}

  The last bell rings of the day and I head over to my locker to pull my bag out. I then walk over to Jake's locker.

  "Hey wanna ride with me?" I ask.

  "Yeah sure, if you don't mind," he says.

  "Oh actually I do. Nope just kidding I would never mind for you," I say.

  We hop in my car and roll out to my house. We arrive and like I said my parents aren't home, just Matt.

  We drop our bags near the door and grab some food from the kitchen. Soon Matt comes down the stairs.

  "Hey! What up my bro?" Matt says to Jake slapping him on the back.

  "You know, the usual," he says looking over at me and winks.

  "Sis, Mom and Dad aren't gonna get home until five just so you know. I'm going to the gym," Matt says.

  "Aight big bro, thanks," I say.

  He leaves and now we have the whole place to ourselves.

  We decide to go downstairs to my finished basement and watch TV. My basement is not as big as Jake's, but it's still comfy.

  We have a pull out sofa down here that we like to pull out and lay on. I put on some Netflix and let him pick the show.

  We both lie down, but our heads propped up by pillows. He puts his hands behind his head while I put my hand on his chest resting close to him.

  We watch a couple episodes of Modern Family, but during most of it we were just staring at each other. I look up him while he releases his hands behind his head and looks down at me. We both turn our bodies now that were are in our side looking straight at each other.

  "Why does everything happen in a basement?" I laugh and smile.

  "I don't know," he says and leans into kiss me.

  By now we had little kisses here and there before we had lied back down and fell asleep.

{5:00}

  I wake up around five o'clock. I'm still in the same bed downstairs, but I don't see Jake. I text him.

Me - Hey Jake, where'd you go?

🤞🏻Jake💙 - Hey I'm sorry I had to leave without saying goodbye, but it was around five o'clock the time your parents were getting home and I didn't want them to see us like this. Also, my mom wanted me home anyway. Thanks for a perfect afternoon💗

Me - Oh right it's 5:05 now. How did you get home?

Me again - Oh and no thank you 😊

🤞🏻Jake💙 - My Mom was coming home from work when she wanted me, so I told her to pick me up. I gtg sorry, but I love you 😘

Me - Love you the most❤️😘

  I clean up here pushing the bed back into the sofa and going upstairs to greet my parents. I think tonight is when I should tell them.

  They both hugged and kissed me. Mom had started dinner while Dad went to go change.

  "So why are you late coming home?" I ask.

  "Oh we were just hung up and behind on some work, so we decided to stay late, anything wrong?" Mom explains.

  "Um, well," I start. "I don't know if I should tell you now or after dinner."

  "Honey, you can tell me anytime you want, what's the matter?" I think she wants to know now.

  I take a deep breath and explain, "Mom, I have a boyfriend." I stop and then continue, "I know you're upset, this is why I never wanted to tell you. I just really like him, I love him. I can't throw him away now."

  She turns around disappointed, I knew this would happen exactly. She says, "Who is it?" She demands for a name.

  "Jake, from my lacrosse team, my best friend, and now my boyfriend," I say.

  "Oh of course a lacrosse boy," she says rolling her eyes. "After what happened to Tyler, you couldn't move on like you promised Dad and I to?"

  It's true, after I broke up with Tyler I promised them that I would move on and not date anyone until at least my last year of college.

  "You don't understand, Jake is nothing like Tyler. He's sweeter, cuter, and the most caring," tears welled up in my eyes, I knew I had to win this argument. "He protected me from all those mean comments I went to the counseling office for and then he stayed with me outside on my the curb while I was crying. He even told me he's sorry for how he couldn't help me when his best friend broke me."

  She looks up at me seeing tears roll down my eyes, she looks sad now.

  "I'm sorry I broke our promise, but I thought Jake was the one who could love me much more than Tyler and make me feel special. And he succeeded," I say. "Mom, you know how hard it is to make me cry, Jake's really really sorry that I cried almost everyday because of Tyler and he couldn't help. But then I remember the day I couldn't help him when Tyler and Jake fought in the hallway and I witnessed everything, I couldn't help him. Then now, we thrive together and we look out after each other. Mom, I know you're hurt, but please let this one go. I love Jake." By now I was I was full blown crying. I cover my face with my hands running to the bathroom.

  I come back out seeing my mom crying. I run over to her and give her a big, long hug.

  "I love you mom," I say.
