{Tuesday}
I arrive to school and unpack my bag. I walk to Jake's locker and he's not there or even near it.
I text him quick, maybe he'll have his phone on him.
Me - Hey baby, where you at? I came to your locker and you aren't here.
Then after I sent that, I heard his phone vibrate in his locker, at least he's here.
"Well now I'll have to find him on my own," I thought.
I walk up and down hallways trying to sneakily look through windows until I see him in the counseling office.
I don't walk in, I don't want to intrude. I'll be there for him, but I don't have to invade his space all the time.
The bell rings and I walk to English, loving my new seat next to Evelyn and not Tyler.
{Social Studies}
It's Term Two right? Well Social Studies is the only class seats didn't change and I'm still sitting next to Alexa. Like do teachers know about freaking rumors? Nope.
"Alexa, congrats," I say talking about Tyler.
"Whatever loser," she snaps back.
"I thought you would be happy, you finally broke us up, got together with Tyler, and still torment me," I said. "Do you want to break Jake and I up now?"
"Yeah I know, but I'll let you go I guess," she says. "I did a lot and I know you won't be seeing us soon."
I didn't know what she meant about "won't be seeing us soon." I didn't ask why though, I'll just let her be.
{After School}
I hop into my car and pull out driving home.
I get home meeting my parents at the door, they're home early. As I walk closer to
the door their faces get droopier.I walk into the door and say, "Mom, Dad what are you doing home early?"
"Why haven't you told us?" I didn't know what they're talking about. "Kara, we could've done something." I still don't know what they're talking about.
"What are you talking about?" I ask really confused.
"Alexa, Libby, and Cameron were spreading rumors about Jake's personal things. Apparently they snooped into his room," they say.
"How do you know though?" I ask.
"Well, Jake went to the counseling office and said you were a witness, too. So we got a phone call home and we are pulling you out of school."
My mouth drops, "Temporary?"
"We will see, Jake is getting pulled too. His mom also fired Libby and Cameron."
"The year is half way over, I can't drop out now!" I said angry and sad at the same time. "Things were just starting to get better!"
"For now we are pulling you out of this month. We know they'll continue rumors, but it's for the best and a little break," my mom says as she leaves this situation. "The school will figure this out."
I run upstairs and FaceTime Louise and tell her everything. She's really sad, but I told her we can hang after school.
Then I call Jake to come over, but I think he's dealing with the same problem with his mom, so I doubt it he will, but I still ask him.
Me - Baby, I'm so so sorry.
🤞🏻Jake💙- What do you mean? I did what I could and now we get a months break from a school!
"I get it he's trying to make it positive, but I-I don't know anymore," I thought.
Me - I know, but I just feel awful.
🤞🏻Jake💙- Babe, don't be, I'm fine. But do you wanna hang out? I really need to just see you now- in person.
Me - Okay, and wanna come over here?
🤞🏻Jake💙- Sure, be there soon💖
I tell my mom he's coming over to hang and to not be sad.
He arrives and I let him in. We grab some coffee from my Keurig while Jake talks to my mom. I warned him, so he should be fine.
The coffees are done brewing and I motion my mom to stop talking and let Jake go. We go downstairs and pull out the bed again. I of course turn on Netflix while we cuddle under at least a blanket because it's so cold, even though I have Jake's body heat too.
An hour passes by and I hear my mom yell down, "Kara," she pauses, "Kara!"
I sat up missing the warmth yelling, "What?"
"Do you want something to eat, it's almost dinner time? Jake can stay if he wants," she yells.
I look over at Jake, "Do you want to stay for dinner? Don't feel like you have to though."
He says, "Yeah sure."
"Mom, let us know when it's ready, he's staying. We are good with anything," I yell back up.
Just then she turns the light back off and shuts the upstairs door.
{Dinner}
My mom calls us up to dinner. We have the whole family home including Jake, so we finally have to use the dining room table.
Jake and I sit down next to each other, with my two brothers across from us, and my parents at the end of the table.
"Smells delicious, thank you," said Jake.
He looks over at me and I look back at him and grabs my hand and holds it under the table.
"You're welcome, so glad you could stay," my mom said.
I felt a little bad for his mom because he left right in the middle of their conversation and missing out dinner with his own family.
Just then Jake squeezes my hand and jump. I zoned out for a bit and Jake whispers, "Are you okay?"
I nod my head yes and let go his hand, serving myself food.
{Monday night}
I sit in my warm pajamas on my bed reading a book. Then I put the book down and look out the window to see snow. Jake had left a while ago and I've been thinking about this temporary pull out.
"They're just going to say things like, 'they were pulled out because they're wimps and think that will help, but do you guys think it is? NO!" I thought.
Also, "I don't get why they couldn't expel or suspend them instead of pulling us out, like that's not going to change anything?!" I actually said and my brother Nick walked in with Bailey.
"Hey sis," he says. "I know you're mad and I get your reasoning because it's not going to change anything, but it will be fine, I promise."
This is the nicest thing my brother has ever said to me especially, Nick, because he's the meanest.
"Thanks," I said smiling at him. He left the room, but Bailey stayed and cuddled up with me.
