Around February, I noticed that Anna had been acting strange. She told me that she wanted to tell me something important at lunch, so I waited patiently for her to tell me when she was ready. She wanted me to know that she was Polysexual. If you don't know, Polysexuality is when it's not only a two-person relationship, there are multiple parties involved.

I told her that I didn't mind her being polysexual, but I didn't want to be a part of a relationship like that and that if she wanted to, then we could nicely end things there and be civil. Though, she assured me that she respected that and wouldn't do something like that without my knowledge, and I believed her.

I don't remember the specific day or if this was in February or March, but I remember looking over at her one day in lunch and thinking to myself, "she's cheating on me". I'm not sure why I thought it, I don't know where that notion would even arise from, but it was there. The days edged on and every day, I did my best to try and pry that speculation from my mind, but it continued to linger.

I know for a fact that this next part happened in March because we were about to celebrate our 3-month anniversary. It was an ordinary day, nothing went wrong, it was going fine. My phone buzzed in my lap as I was in the passenger seat of my mom's car and when I looked down, I saw an unsaved number that texted me saying 'hey'. The first thing I did was ask who they were for obvious reasons and the name they responded with took me by surprise.

"Oh, this is Joselyn", or to shed some light, one of Josh's old friends who went to pride and they fought and left him. I didn't feel the need to say that they all became friends again because it wasn't that important at the time and there also wasn't a great opening to just casually throw it in. But yeah, they're all friends again.

A part of me believed that she was only reaching out to me to have a friendly conversation, but a tiny part of me knew that there was a reason behind it. We held a casual conversation for a while and then all of a sudden, she hits me with, "You know Anna is cheating on you, right?" In a split-second, my day went from great to grey all because of that tiny sentence.

There aren't many responses to choose from in that situation, but I knew that I had to defend my girl. She told me she would never do that to me. So, I did, I defended her and I looked like a complete fool for it. Once I even showed a little bit of trust in my girlfriend, I got messages from all of Josh's friends except one. The one who my girlfriend was cheating on me with.

"Oh, yeah, she's dating Austin (FtM transgender)", "I can't believe you're stupid enough to defend her", "wow, and I thought you couldn't get any dumber already."

I got all kinds of messages that consisted of the above examples along with some screenshots of Anna and Austin exchanging I love you's. Before I could take it in, I noticed the time stamp on the screenshot was from 3 days prior and all from Austin's phone, which meant they were planning this. Austin took the screenshot and sent it to all of them before they all texted me at once, might I add.

I was madder at them for meddling in my relationship and at Austin for agreeing to date Anna knowing that her and I were together. I was more distraught about the fact that they would go this far and wait this long to tell me than the fact that the girl who assured me that I was the only girl in her life.

When I confronted Anna in person about it, she kept denying it, even when there were screenshots. It wouldn't have hurt as bad if she had just come clean about it when I asked her the first 2 times. So, on my phone, I had 4 people bombarding me with insults about my intelligence because of my decision to defend the one who was supposed to be faithful to me and in front of me, I had a cheater and a liar who refused to confront the truth.

I'm going to, again, save you the trouble of reading unnecessary paragraphs and save myself the trouble of writing them, by paraphrasing the entire thing. Pretty much, I went to Josh's house angry with him for embarrassing me like that and banged on his front door (just to be clear, his mother and him have very similar voices), when a voice from inside yelled "who is it!" I snapped back (thinking this is Josh) "who do you think!" And you know, the face did not match the voice and I had just made his mother mad evidently, leading to her kicking Josh out. Whatever he did in the past to anger his mom was not my fault, I just accidentally added to the fire.

From what was a peaceful and happy day, was now the day that I found out that the girl who, at the time, I thought I could marry one day, was cheating on me.
