Ok so I haven't finished the drawing to go with this yet but here is a headcanon that I have for the two. So because Spartans were raised to be withdrawn, chief isn't very good at expressing his love to Thel so instead he leaves little notes around their room, house, ship, base whatever and no matter what, arby will always reply to them.
