Seven's POV
It was around the second week since I had started staying overnight with Six. That's when it happened.
The second round of nightmares.
We had gone to bed at nine, per usual. All snuggled up, comfortable, cozy and warm. Six had drifted off within twelve minutes, like always. I just laid there, soaking up her presence, her peaceful tranquility, this, this was perfection.
I enjoyed spending time with her, even if we weren't talking, just sitting around, just sleeping.
It was nice.
. . .
I had woken up at one, feeling pretty tired, but I just couldn't fall back asleep.
After waiting a full twenty minutes for sleep to reclaim me, I gave up.
And Six kicked me.
I stared in bewilderment, dumbfounded.
Six's eyes were pressed shut, her eyebrows pressed together as if in concentration. She began to struggle in my arms, whimpering. Her words were incoherent, but her voice was full of fear.
I was concerned, what could be happening in there?
I tried to let go of her, as she seemed scared. She only clung tighter to me, stopping her struggles. She shivered.
I reluctantly wrapped my arms around her, wondering if it was a good idea. She simply quieted down, hugging me tightly.
Eventually she woke up.
I watched as her hazel eyes glowed in the dark. We made eye contact, and she blinked confusedly, "You're up?"
"Yeah, I woke up a little while ago and couldn't fall back asleep." I guess that was partially true...
She looked up at me, smiling, "I'm glad you're ok."
Whats that supposed to mean?
She looked down, bashfully, "My mom visited me again just now." she paled, "And so did the Lady."
She shivered, and I hugged her closer. She seemed pretty in control of herself.
And it didn't feel right.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"Yeah, its pretty important."
"Ok, shoot."
She smiled up at me, "Well, my mom told me about something she foresaw happening," her smile became fake, "it is kinda scary."
I felt the color drain from my face, "Like, how scary?"
"She saw me eat stuff," tears pricked in the corners of her eyes, "it was small at first, raw meat was all. Then I graduated to living things. It was a rat, then a Nome, then..."
Her frame shuddered in my arms, "I ate you..." she let out a sob, "and her..."
Gruesome!
She let out more cries, silent, yet heart-wrenching.
I could only try to console her, "Hey, that's not going to happen..."
She looked up at me again, her eyes teary, "B-but she t-told me-"
"Shhhhhhhh-" I stroked her hair gently, playing with her silky hair, "Don't worry..."
"I saw it all happen!" She buried her face in my jacket again, "I could only watch, watch as I did those horrible things!"
