Third Person POV

"I miss our room too."

Six, barely conscious, willed herself to elicit a response, failing miserably.  She may be tired, but it was unfair of her to refuse him an empathetic response, they had both lost their home.

Wrenching herself from the grip of sleep, Six struggled to gather enough power to voice her support.

Before she could however, Seven planted a kiss in her hair, leaving Six surprised.

"Goodnight Six."

Six struggled to find the words that she had been preparing, to say anything at all. Glad Seven could not see her face, Six finally gathered her courage.

"Night Sev." Six tried to be optimistic, finding it coming easier than expected, "When this is all over, maybe we can find our way back home."

Seven bolted upright, miraculously avoiding jostling his beloved Six.

She was awake.

She was awake.

She was awake.

He had kissed her, and she had been awake.

Seven sat straight upward, face flushed, contemplating his life choices; meanwhile, Six, oblivious to his state of extreme worry, snuggled her face into his knee, as if to rub off her blush.

"You're right - one day, we will make it back," Seven smiled at the thought, momentarily forgetting his embarrassment, "and when we do. . . We can. . . We can snuggle for a whole week!"

Six giggled, showing her agreement, "That sounds nice.  We could stay in bed the whole time! We won't work the whole time!"

Both kids fantasied about their surprisingly childish proposal, thinking about the luxury of the thought.  Reading books together, brushing each other's hair, sleeping in, eating all the food they wanted.  That sounded amazing to the two homesick children.

"I can't wait to get back now."

Six gave a tired chuckle, "Yeah. . ."

They would make it back, Seven resolved.  He would get them home, for Six.

Speaking of Six,

Seven tried to contain his embarrassment, he had been caught in the act. He couldn't understand how he had been ready to fall asleep just now.

Taking quiet breaths, now incredibly conscious of Six's awareness of his actions, he leaned back against the wall.

This wasn't that big of a deal, he reassured himself, they've kissed plenty of times before.

He shook his head of the thought, but the prominent blush didn't fade from his cheeks.

Every kiss, no matter how small, always leaves me breathless. . .

He stretched his back, his spine being met with the cold wall behind him.

This certainly wouldn't be the most comfortable sleep of his life, but for Six - It was worth it.
