Rakim
"What do you like about Khassidy?" Dianna asked.
I sighed. "You really wanna know the answer to that, man?"
"Hiii, Pooh!" Ella kissed her son over and over again.
He laughed and grabbed her ear. "Byeeee"
"No, we said bye earlier, silly" Ella gave him a hug. "You're being such a big boy today. I love you."
"Luhhh" He cheesed, and Ella grabbed his hand.
Dianna nodded her head in response to me after staring at them for a bit.
"Bye, daddy" Rocky walked up to me, still cheesing.
I made him climb on the bed with me, and he gave me a hug.
Nemiah slept quietly on the bed.
Khass was running strip club errands.
I had both'a my kids with me today.
"Nemmy wake?" Rocky asked.
"No, I-"
...spoke too soon, because Nemiah cried and reached for me.
Rocky laughed, but she would go right back to sleep as soon as I got her comfortable.
"Byeeeee Nemmy" He said quietly. "Luhhh"
Ella smiled. "He loves her and Raven so much. He asked me what WayWay was doing when we got in the car this morning."
I let Rocky lean forward and kiss her on the forehead.
Her mean ass frowned and looked at me, and frowned even more.
"They haven't seen each other in a minute. I'll have to get something together soon."
"Bye, Rakim"
"See ya" I nodded my head.
It be your own nut.
I fed her most of the bottle that Khass left, and rubbed on her cheek until she passed out.
"You can take your time" Dianna said softly.
"Planned on it" I sat Nem&Nem up to burp her.
"The tone wasn't necessary"
"I don't think you would want to know how I felt about another girl"
"And why not?"
"Cause you not independent and on ya boss shit like she was. You just going to compare yourself. It's pointless."
"Just tell me. Ella too."
"Well I like how independent Khass is. I knew I had to get it when I first seen her dancing. She put me on to some business shit, and there's no one else that I would have wanted to go into business with. Khass don't play. I like how she did right by her child. Ummm, she cares about me so damn much. I really don't deserve her. She gave me my first daughter, man. That shit is troublee, but I'm glad that Nemiah's a mean one. Umm, Ella down with the hood shit, and I fuck with her for that. She's going to do right by her 'Pooh'. No questions asked."
"Do you pity me?"
"I mean...pity is a strooooong word. I did feel bad for you though"
"Did? What changed?"
"You killed my kid and actively accept money from my Parole Officer so that you could go to college. I look at you different now because I ain't know that you could be so selfish. I don't need to pity you cause you got a short stack of cash now. Congrats on the come up." Her lip twitched, and I cut her off before she could speak. "-don't reply with just anything because you feel attacked either."
"I'm sorry"
"A start" I said lowly. "Even if I wasn't ready for the damn baby, we could of worked something out-"
"That would have been your third-"
"So? You not the one caring for the other two are you?"
"No" She whispered.
"I'll tell you what. I wasn't ready for the first two, and I won't be ready for the next two, but I would never kill any child of mine"
"I'm just going to go, Rakim. You're attacking me, and I can't just sit here and let that happen. I'm sorry. See you some time later, I guess"
-
"Myra, Myra, Myra. Let me ask you something, Myra"
"What are you up to, Rakim? Did Rich say anything? Oh Gosh, did Raven say anything? She always gets so excited-"
"Do you love me?"
"Yes. I love you and Raven the exact same."
Nemiah gurgled lowly in my arms, starting to fidget. I put her pacifier back in, and she chilled out.
That was surprising.
I loved my little mean ass busy body though.
"So why you gettin' in the way?" I asked.
"It's still my job to keep you safe, Rakim. I may cut corners sometimes, but I mostly stay on track though." Myra said, fixing her weapons belt.
I picked my bag up off of the floor, and sat in on the counter between us.
"Where'd you get this money from?" She asked, barely touching it.
"Don't worry about it."
"Well why'd you bring it to me? Be clear, Rakim. You're dragging the situation, and I clock in soon."
"It's what you paid out of Dianna's tuition. Don't pay nomore"
