They got her stabilized and put her on an oxygen tube and gave her an iv. The nurse took the baby to clean her up. When she was done she gave her back to me. I smiled as I looked at mine and Tessa's beautiful creation. I sighed as Tessa laid still in the hospital bed. I moved the chair next to the bed and slowly laid our little girl on Tessa's chest so she could hear her mother's heart beat.
The baby was sound asleep. She knew it was Tessa and that she was safe.
3 hours have gone by and Tessa has yet to wake up.... I haven't seen a nurse for at least 45 minuets now. The baby was getting hungry again so I grabbed the bottle from her bag and made her some milk. Tessa wanted to breast feed because that was how she was done. But she can't right now. Not until she wakes up. If she wakes up.
I saw a nurse pass by and I called for her.
"Is there anything you can do? Is she ok?" I asked.
"Well we need to run some test and see. I'll be back with the results." With that she left and I sat down and continued to feed the baby.
At that moment and time all I wanted to do was name the baby... but I want Tessa's approval first. And I can't....
I moved to the large couch with the baby in my arms and fell into a deep sleep.
2-3 hours later.
I woke up by the sound of a baby giggling. My eyes shot open. The baby wasn't in my arms and I panicked. I turn and see Tessa wide awake playing with our baby.
"Tessa!" I said and ran to her. I gave her a huge hug with the baby to her chest. I started crying.
"Logan I'm fine. I'm right here!" She said trying to calm me down.
"I thought i was going to loose you." I said crying with my hands holding her angel like face.
"She places one of her hand on mine and moved it to her heart.
"See I'm fine." She said. I leaned in and gave her a kiss I've been waiting to give her. I looked at the baby, she smiled and giggled a bit.
"So what should we name her?" I asked.
"What about Audrey Rose Paul?" I looked at her with happiness and smiled.
"That's perfect!" I said.
"Welcome to the world Audrey!" I said. "Daddy and mommy love you so much." I said playing with her tiny fingers.
I sat down by Tessa and we laid down with Audrey laying in our arms. We all fell asleep. Finally our family. Together.
