She's 8. Dallas thought to himself, she's 8 already.

Its surprising how time flies by. Both Emi and Johnny are 8 right now. AC and Dallas had ups and downs, but they never gave up on their siblings. No matter the countless, restless nights, the crying, and especially the vomit, they stuck by their sides.

"Emi! Where did you go?" Dally heard Emi giggling somewhere in the house. "C'mon Emi, it isn't funny. You're gonna be late, and your teacher will be mad." Dallas felt sort of bad, lying to his little sister, but how else is he supposed to get her to get ready? He looked at the clock 8:00 am, shit. "Em--" he didn't get to finish as he felt her small body come in contact with his left leg.

"W-will s-she hurt m-me?" Emi isn't completely over what happened to her with her "father" and Dallas tries to not lose his temper, or show her, or be near her when he's mad.

"Don't worry princess, if she is mean to you, we'll figure something out, alright?" Emi hesitantly nodded her head. "Aight, but you need to let me know if something happens, okay?" she nodded her head again with confidence this time. "Mkay, let's get this lady bug into her school clothes, you got half an hour and it takes twenty minutes to walk there."

Heading to his sister's pink room, he found it messy, "Emi, what did I tell you bout makin' a mess?"

"To never show you?" Emi tilted her head in a cute way. Dallas couldn't help, but think she was cute. No, be strong.

"No, to clean up your mess. I'll let it slide for now, but next time remember, okay princess?"

"Kay Dal." picking her up, she gave kisses to Dal on his cheek, "What was that for?" Dally asked her.

"For never giving up on me." she may be eight, but she is a smart eight year old.

"I'll always be on your side. No matter the countless fights we will get into when you're older, I'll always love you." Emi hugged him hard, she doesn't want to cry before going to school.

"Thank you." She whispered into his shoulder.

"C'mon," Dallas patted her on her back, "we should start to head to school."

Emi was reluctant, but after looking at Dallas, she grabbed her backpack, while Dallas yelled to AC, "AC, cmon man! Y'all, er we are gonna be late!"

Hearing two pairs of feet coming down the stares, ones lighter than the other, Dallas started to head to the door. He chuckled seeing his kid sister trying to tie her shoes, "Need any help?"

"Nah, I got this." She stuck her tongue out, concentrating, and feeling accomplished once she tied her shoes. By the time Emi finished tying her shoes, AC and Johnny were by the door, Johnny finished getting his shoes being tied by AC.

"We already?" Dallas asked the siblings.

Once receiving nods by the little kids, and AC being himself, he said in a childish voice, "Yes Dally Pally." AC got a hit in the back of the head, and the four had set out to the elementary school.
