I Apologize

Last time on This Is The Dream

Dom: "What happened, are you ok?!" I ask in a panic

Girl: "Dom... is that really you?

---Now---

Dom's POV

Dom: "I'm sorry but how do you know my name?"

All of a sudden I am tackled by a black blur and collide with the hard wood floor of my living room. As I collide with the floor I release an audible grunt of pain as I land on the stab wound I got earlier. As I look down I see a pair of crystal clear, shining light blue eyes boring holes into my soul.

Girl: "Dom... do you seriously not remember me?"

Dom: "I'm sorry bu-"

I am cut off by a fist colliding with my chest, knocking the wind out of my lungs. I glare down at the girl but my facial expression softens as I sees the tears start to well up in the girl's eyes.

Girl: "Don't you dare finish that sentence! Just stop being such a fucking idiot for one second and think! Don't you remember me! We went to school together we had spent hours together!"

I stay silent for about 2 minutes I look over at the picture which, conveniently, was stood up facing me after the girl had dropped it. I then stare back at the girl and realise who she is.

Dom: "Miyuki... is that really you?"

Miyuki: "Finally you recognise me. I can't believe I found you. After you disappeared during college without a word I couldn't help but worry for you."

Dom: "Man it's been so long. This is almost like the first time we met when you were cornered and trapped by him. I also apologise for not telling you that I was leaving before I left."

Miyuki: "Its fine, you better be staying here this time though!"

Dom: "I have to stay... well at least until my most recent job is finished. Anyway, enough about me, you still need to get changed so I can take you back home."

Narrator's POV

After this he gives Miyuki the spare change of clothes and directs her to the bathroom. Once she leaves he falls down onto the sofa, slumped over, elbows resting on his knees and his chin resting on his palms. He spends the time alone letting the events that just unfolded sink into his mind. The fact that he has just found his childhood friend after 2 years of separation. After 10 minutes he hears the bathroom door unlock and Miyuki steps out in a pair of black and white converses, a pair of black, slim fit jeans, a Bullet For My Valentine, Gravity t-shirt and an Assassins Creed Origins hoodie. He gestures to Miyuki to follow him as he walks toward the garage.

He opens the door to the garage and there they sees his Suzuki GSX-R750 painted in a matte black and blood red. He goes over to the work bench on the other side of the garage and picks up 2 helmets. He picks out a custom matte black helmet with ventilators on the front towards where his mouth would be and 6 spikes protruding from the top 3 on either side, giving it the appearance of a very sinister full head gasmask. The other is a white helmet with an ice blue lion depicted on the left side and a flaming orange phoenix on the right. He keeps the matte black one for himself and gives the white one to Miyuki. He helps Miyuki onto the bike first before getting onto the bike himself. He twists the key in the ignition, bringing the engine to life, and proceeds to rev the engine a few times before opening the garage door and leaving the house.

---Time Skip---

After about 20 minutes of driving the pair reach Miyuki's house. They both dismount the bike and Miyuki approaches the front door. She goes to open the front door, however before she can put the key into the lock the door opens. She looks up to be met with the worried look of her sister before she is pulled into a loving embrace. Dom is stood slightly behind the pair leaning against his bike.

Miyuki's sister: "Miyuki where have you been?! I got back half an hour ago and found you weren't here. I was so worried, I thought something had happened to you."

Miyuki: "I'm fine Yuuki."

Yuuki: "So who's the mystery man on the bike?" she says whilst giving a curious yet slightly suspicious glance toward Dom.

Miyuki then waves Dom over. He sighs, pushes himself up and off of his bike and wanders over toward the pair of sisters.

Miyuki: "Say Yuuki, do you remember my friend that we thought went missing during college?"

Yuuki: "Yeah, I know we both miss Dom but why bring him up now, that was almost 2 years ago now?"

Miyuki gestures to Dom to take off his helmet. As he does, his long hair falls out and over his ears and over his right eye. He then drags his right hand through his hair combing it back, away from his right eye.

Dom: "Hey Yuuki, it's been a while hasn't it." He says as he chuckles.

All of a sudden a slapping sound rings out through the neighbourhood. Yuuki's hand in a position past Dom's face, and his head turned slightly to one side, suggesting Yuuki had just slapped him. Dom was about to say something but was cut off by Yuuki pulling him into a warm embrace, which he returned pretty much instantaneously.

Yuuki: "That's what you get for worrying us... idiot."

Dom: "Yeah, I suppose I deserve that one. How have you been Yuuki?"

They both release the embrace

Yuuki: "I've been well. How about yourself?"

Dom: "I've not been too bad. I'm sorry for leaving you and Miyuki alone 2 years ago, I should've let you know I was leaving."

Yuuki: "It's fine Dom, just let us know when you're leaving next time."

Dom: "I will. Anyways it's getting late, I should get going and leave you two in peace. If you ever want to contact me here is my phone number."

Before Dom leaves he hands Yuuki a piece of paper with his phone number on it. He then mounts his bike, starts the engine and then leaves, not without waving goodbye first.

---Time Skip---

When Dom reaches his home and parks his bike back in the garage, he enters his house then checks the time on his watch realizing it's 9:00 PM and heads up to his room to sleep in preparation for the next day.
