You feel around in your backpack, trying to find your phone to turn it off. Everyone was looking at you impatiently. Your teacher stood at the whiteboard, taping his foot, waiting for you to stop distracting the class. Once you finally found your phone and turned it off, you realized that you weren't wearing pants anymore.
Everyone started whispering and then the teacher came over to your desk. Except, he wasn't your teacher anymore. He had turned into this really mean girl in your class, Victoria. She looked you up and down then started laughing hysterically. Everyone in the class stood up and joined her. You started crying. Then, out of nowhere, their laughs started to sound like being noises. They got louder and louder.
You rub your eyes, sit up, and realize you were just dreaming. You roll over on your side and turn off your alarm clock.
You fell into your usual routine on a weekday morning which was shower, get dressed, eat, brush hair/teeth, and then wait for your friend Chelsie to come pick you up.
Chelsie is a senior and you guys had become friends through Basketball. When you were a freshman and she was a junior, she was the captain of the team (and still is). When you tried out, she thought you were really talented and put you on varsity. That made you a little popular considering you were the first freshman in years to be on varsity. You know most of the juniors and seniors on your team and are pretty close with most of them. The softmores and the freshman were a little salty in the beginning but they came around.
One girl who is in your grade, didn't make the team at all so she was very upset. You tried to be her friend through it, considering you guys were friendly to each other in Middle school, but she pushed you away. She took out her anger on you specifically and vowed to make your life a living hell.
You told the rest of the girls on your team about it, and they all just sort of laughed it off.
"I've known Victoria since Elementary school" said Caroline, one of her friends. "She couldn't hurt you even if she tried".
This was a year ago though, and things have defenitly changed.
Victoria tried out again in the beginning of the season and made junior varsity with the rest of the freshman and softmores. You could tell she had been practicing because some of the seniors were seriously considering haveing her join varsity.
Softmore year had only started just three months ago. Now that victoria was on the team, you started to feel watched more often. You felt jumpy sometimes and unsettled. After practice one day, you opened your locker and found your jersey cut up and a note on the inside that read,
"I never go back on my word...remember that"
You felt a little threatened and concluded that this had to have been Victoria. You remembered that at the beginning of freshman year, she promised to hurt you. You told Chelse about it and you wanted to look at security cameras, but there weren't any in the girls locker room.
Victoria denied it when asked but only because it was made clear that whoever did that, would be kicked off the team. From then on, she had to be sneakier about it. Whether it was texting you from anonymous writer, or flirting with someone that you liked (which she found out from going into the basketball's varsity team's group chats.
Not before long, Chelse arrived at your house to pick you up. You got in and Chelsea started the car to bring you both to school.
"I am so freakin tired today" she said sleepily.
