You were in your room, waiting for Jonah to get to your house. He had texted you when you got home from practice saying that you guys should go to the mall and look for stuff to make your costumes.

It wasn't long until you heard him ring your doorbell. You ran downstairs as fast as you could so you could get there before anyone else. You've told your mom and dad about Jonah before but they never really took him seriously. Since he was so much older than you, they always kind of laughed at the idea of you two even hanging out with each other cause they thought it was so ludicrous.

You open the door and there he was. You both said quick hi's and then you closed your front door and ran over to his car.

"Why in such a rush?" He asked.

"Cause my parents don't know we're hanging out" You say back.

"How is that a problem?" He says as you both get in his car.

"Because, even though we're not dating and you have a girlfriend, they're gonna still think something is going on between us".

Jonah rolls his eyes and says, "well, they have a beautiful daughter so I mean, I would be cautious too".

You raise your eyebrows and smile a little bit but decide not to address it.

At the mall, you guys decide what you wanna be and find some great things for it. The idea was to be Marshal and Lilly from How I Met Your Mother. Even though that was technically a couples costume, you guys didn't feel like it was gonna be that big of a deal. Also, it worked perfectly considering the size difference between you two.

After you guys get all of your stuff done, Jonah invites you over to his house to hang out. You were excited until you got inside and he had a few friends hanging out already.

It was pretty late when you guys got back. He must've been having a party or something which was weird since he wasn't there to host it and it was a school night.

"Do you usually have friends over without you here?" You ask as Jonah guided you through his house and to his kitchen.

"Yeah, well, my friend group usually just hangs out wherever and they know that my parents don't come home till five am tomorrow" he said back. He then held up two red solo cups and motioned to ask you if you wanted a drink. You put your hand up and shook it as to say that you didn't want anything.

After a while of you guys hanging out in his kitchen, Jonah wanted to introduce you to some of his friends. You both walked into his living room and sat down on the couch. There were people everywhere sitting and talking and dancing and eating.

"You have a lot of friends" you say to him. Jonah shrugs and says, "I really only have like, ten friends that I actually invite...the rest of the people here are friends of my friends".

You nod slowly, looking around to see if you recognize anyone from school. You see a lot of people that you've seen around in the hallways but there were a couple of people that you had never seen before.

"Where's Vic?" You ask.

"Oh, she doesn't really do parties....I also don't really tell her about the parties..."

You nod and don't say anything else. You knew they were toxic but it wasn't your place to talk to Jonah about it.

"Hey guys, come over here" you heard Jonah say. You looked up to see four other boys standing around you. They looked familiar but it wasn't like you had any classes with them or anything.

"Y/n, this is Zach, Jack, Corbyn, and Daniel". They all said hi and you said hi back.

"I've seen you around I think" said Jack. "Yeah, you're that basketball girl, right?" Asked Daniel. You nod and Zach says "wow, I've seen you play, you're like really good". You blush a little as the boys sit down on the floor around you.

You all talked for what felt like forever. It was nice though. You learned that jack was a junior, Daniel and Corbyn were both seniors and that Zach was in your grade. You were surprised that you had never seen him around before but then again, he did just transfer here this year.

Throughout the night, you and the boys started getting closer. You were warming up to hanging out with them whilst being yourself. Two girls did come over to you guys and sit with Jack and Corbyn but you realized that they were their girlfriends so you introduced yourself

Jack's girlfriend was a  sophomore named Gabbie who you had a couple classes with. She recognized you and treated you like an actual friend. Corbyn's girlfriend was a girl named Christina who was a junior who was friends with a couple girls on your basketball team. Daniel and Zach were single and you remembered that Chelse told you a while back that she had the biggest crush on him Daniel.

Time Skip *** 11:30pm

You opened your eyes just a little bit as you feel someone shaking you awake. You lifted your head up and stretched.

"What happened?" You said sleepily. You looked around and noticed that everyone had cleared out. The music was low and it was completely dark outside.

"You crashed like, an hour ago. People started going home when word got around that I still need to write an exam paper for tomorrow. Nobody's here but you, me, and Zach."

You scratch your head and get up off of the couch. You go into Jonah's kitchen again and find Zach sitting at his table on his phone.

"What are you still doing here?" You ask. Zach looks up and says, "Jonah wanted me to help him with his term paper. Not to brag but I am pretty good at world history".

"Really?" You say. "World history is actually my favorite subject..."

"Me too" he said. You smiled as you pulled up a chair and sat down next to him. You guys talked about some questions that you had about that subject and your favorite battles and your least favorite leader of all time.

"Hey nerds" Jonah said as he walked in. You and Zach both were over it and continued talking.

"You seem to know a lot about this kind of stuff...you can stay and help us if you want" Zach said. You turned to Jonah to see if he was cool with it and he smiled as he took a bite of an apple.

"Yeah, you're cool, you can stay if you want."

You were set on the idea of staying until you heard your phone from the other room. You went to go get it and it was blown up with texts from your mom and dad. They were wondering where you were.

You looked at the time and it was 11:30 pm.

"Jonah!" You yell. "I need a ride home! Oh my god my parents are gonna kill me! I didn't realize it was so late!"

You were freaking out as Jonah and Zach ran into the room, trying to calm you down. You guys got into his car shortly after and drove back to your house. You thanked them for a wonderful night and ran to the back of your house. Your parents would've actually murdered you if you had came in from the front door. You needed to think fast.

Once you were behind your house, you walked over to this huge tree that was planted in your backyard. You started to climb it since you were able to access your room from the top. Since you had a balcony, you were able to climb up the tree and to your room without any problems. Your plan was to get inside, get in bed, and act like you were in your room the entire time. You snuck in through your doors of your balcony, quickly changed, and got in bed.

When you took off your sweat shirt, you saw a little piece of paper fall out of the pocket. You picked it up and saw that it had a phone number on it with a note that read: I hope we can continue our conversation later.....
