Percy’s P.O.V

The meeting had ended 30 minutes ago. Now me and the rest of the army were just sitting on the bed of the cabin that Forge and Lee had made for us, talking about the meeting. The cabin was quite cool if I do say so myself. On the outside it looked like space; full of stars planets and galaxies floating around. On the inside it was made of black marble and had bunk beds, just like the other cabins in camp. Each one of us had our own bed, I was bellow Luke.

I was sitting next to Zoe, who was sitting on my bed, holding her hand. We were currently talking about the different types of weapons that we would need. Although this was a very serious topic there was another, even more serious, topic that needed to be brought up urgently.

“Was I the only one that noticed how Grover was looking at us at the beginning of the meeting?”

“No, I noticed it two.” Zoe says.

“Same here.” Bianca says, while the rest just nod in agreement.

“Anyone know what may have caused those odd stares?” Luke asks.

The tone of his voice was quite scary if you ask me, it was dead serious. But I don’t blame him. This could put the whole mission in danger.

Why?

Well if someone in camp finds out our identity then they probably will tell the rest of camp. and if the rest of the camp find out that some of their old, dead, campers are dead then word will most likely get old to Gaea and Kronos. And that can’t happen. The enemy will most likely use our past to try to get us on their side. And honestly with all this rage that is stored up inside of us, they may actually be able to get us to turn sides.

“I think I may know what happened.” Silena said from her spot on Beckendorf’s lap. We all looked at her expectantly, she took a deep breath before continuing. “Well as the daughter of the goddess of love I can sense someones emotions. Grover had a huge aura of recognition directed at Percy. We can always hope for the best and be optimistic by thinking that he was very desperate and jumped to the conclusion that ‘Omega’-” She said putting air quotes on my code name- “is Percy.” She continue.

She took another deep breath and looked around the room. I honestly don’t know why most demigods think that all daughters of Aphrodite are stupid; Silena is really smart once you actually take the time to know her.

“Or...” Lee asks obviously sensing that there was more to this speech that Silena just gave us.

“Or we can be a bit more realistic and agree that it was the empathy link and now that Percy is back after so long it’s stronger than it ever was before.” Zoe said.

“I say we vote on it.” I speak up.

“I say we are optimistic.” Bianca says.

“Same.” Zoe and I say.

“I agree with them.” Pollux says. Lee, Silana, and Beckenford both nod in agreement.

“I think we should be realistic.” Luke says, resulting in us all glaring at him. “I just think we should prepare ourselves for the worst.” He says.

“Optimistic it is.” Bianca declares. We all cheer in agreement, except for Luke.

-------------------------- 3 Hours Later-----------------------

For the next 3 hours we only talked about the meeting. Although we stopped talking about the subject after we voted on it I still couldn’t help but think about the fact that Grover couldn’t stop staring at us, especially me. It just got me annoyed for some reason. Maybe it was the fact that it had been a long day, or maybe it was because I was annoyed at the whole camp but it still go on my nerves.

Today has been a very long day for all of us, and I couldn’t help but blame on one person and one person only.

Nathan.

Ever since I came back to camp I don’t know how I should feel about him.

Even if it was his fault that the whole camp used to hate me, my life was pretty much hell, my mother was dead, my father disowned me, and my girlfriend cheated on me. I couldn’t help but fell thankful. If it wasn’t for him I would have never seen my old friends again, I wouldn’t have a good life, I wouldn’t have had Chaos bring my mother and Paul back from the dead for my birthday, I wouldn’t have a much better father, and I would have never seen Zoe again and confessed my true feelings for her.

So all-in-all he pretty much gave me everything back and much more. I know the whole camp hates him now because of what he did and I know that he blames himself for everything that has happened. You can see it in his eyes whenever you look at him.there was only one thing that you saw when you looked in them; regret.

I honestly don’t blame him for feeling this way. If I made someone run away from their home and put the whole camp in danger I would regret it two. I mean-

“Hey Percy.” A sweet voice brought me out of my thoughts. I looked beside me to see Zoe looking at me, “Two horns were just blown. That means that dinner is ready. Come one.” She says standing up and offering me her hand, I took it and intertwined our fingers before standing up and walking out of our cabin with her.

“So what were you thinking about?” She asks me as we walk to the dinning hall behind the others.

“Nathan.” I say simply, knowing that she would want to know more.

“Oh,” She says surprised. “What about him?”

“Just thinking about how I should feel towards him.”

“How do you think you should feel about him?” She ask from beside me.

“Thankful.” I answer.

“For what?” She asks skeptically, “He made your life a living hell.” She says.

I think back on how happy my mom and Paul were living on Planet Chaos, writing together about how things on Earth used to be. Selling best selling books and having their books on every bookstore on the planet.

I think about how happy all my friends. How we would all mess around and train together. How we would all mess and tease each other when we got girlfriends. I thought back to when we ate together laughing and making small talk.

I think about my first date with Zoe. I was so nervous about asking her out. I think about the smiles on our faces when we said we love each other at the same time. I think about our first quest together. I think about how we stick together no matter what.

“For giving me a much better than I could ever ask for.” I say looking over at her smiling.

She smiles back at me. I lean in and give her a quick kiss.

“We better get going.” She says looking forward before looking back at me, “The others are already at the dining hall and if we don’t get there soon we are never going to hear the end of this.” She says her smile smile getting wider when she said the last part.

“Race you there?” I ask her smiling. She nods.

“Ready.” She says.

“Set.” I say slightly louder.

“GO!” We both scream before letting go of each other hands and taking of running in the direction of the dinning hall.

Thank you Nathan, I think, Thank you.
