Corianne
The walk to the field is short, and when I get there, Ty is waiting for me. I smile. "You're early. Usually that's my place."
He smiles back and we stand ten feet apart. I raise a wall of fire and slowly let it fall, signaling the beginning of the spar. I light up the sky with red and send electricity flying towards him. He blocks it with a metal shield he created with a wave of his hand.
The next thing I know, there is a blue shield around us both. I look up and see Premier Davidson holding the odd contraption with the force of his mind. Then there's Clara, my parents, and the Samos's.
I glare at Clara. She smiles at me, and in return, I set the ground at her feet on fire. It's not enough to do real damage, but the point is there. "I said you couldn't tell anyone!"
"Well, lightening isn't exactly subtle, and I decided someone needed to keep you two from killing innocent bystanders," she says, gesturing at Davidson with disinterest "and your parents saw the lightening and forced me to bring them to you immediately, but I promise I didn't bring Evangeline or Ptolemous, or Wren for that matter, but she is a healer, so maybe the crowd isn't all that bad," she rambles.
So much for nothing ruining today. "Let's just start over," I say through gritted teeth. Clara just nods and backs away. Premier Davidson raises a blue shield again. This time it's Father's turn to place a fire wall between Ty and I. When it drops, the spar begins.
Ty sends sharp metal shards flying my way, but I dodge them with ease. One ends up grazing my left shoulder, but I ignore the pain. Electricity crackles on my skin, and fire dances at my feet. I hear Father let out a low whistle.
"You're no more than an electricity magnet in all that armour!" I call. He simply smirks and ducks as I send a red bolt of lightning at his head. More metal flies at me, but I melt it with no effort. My flames leap towards him. He yells as his iron boots begin to melt. I leap at him and pin him down. Suddenly I'm coated in silver blood.
I realize with a start that I broke his nose when knocked him down. I jump back immediately, and we both stand. Both of his hands go into the air and he says, " I surrender." I turn away from the Silver behind me and look at Father, who is smiling widely.
"That was a quick fight huh? I expected it to last a few hours, but you are my daughter."
"You and me?" I ask.
He shakes his head and gestures at Wren, who has already set Ty's broken nose and healed his burns. I walk over, and my shoulder is healed before I can even blink. The sky flashes white. I return Tyton's message with my own red lightening, but his flashes twice more, the signal of an attack from the northern border of Montfort.
