What is friendship?
I can't find the answer anywhere
So, I asked my classmate,
"Someone who understands your pain
and helps you through it",
But he calls the whole class his friend
Not understanding the irony
I approached a passerby
"Someone who you've known for a long time
and is there in both your happy and sad moments"
But he termed a person, who he
Met yesterday, as friend
I questioned a girl,
"Someone who makes you laugh
when you're down and knows your silence"
But she calls every new person
She meets as a friend
I look into the dictionary
"a person with whom one has a bond
of mutual affection"
Stranded in this conquest
I lost the line between acquaintance and friend
While in this world everyone has large
Groups of friends
I still search for the definition of friendship
