The stillness will stretch as far
The walls will scream
But you won't hear them.
Everything will be calm, unmoving
The other side of your bed
Will become heavier each moment
But you won't notice it.
The breeze will blow steadily outside
The crickets will go silent
For just that one night.
The night she'll leave.
You won't be able to catch her,
Even if you tried; if you weren't asleep.
It'll be unnatural without the coughing beside you
But you won't notice it.
She'll be there, lying next to you
Beautiful as always, far away in her dreams,
And peacefully asleep
But you won't know it'll be forever.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Much love,
