Max woke up to the sound of laughter. She groaned. She put a pillow over her ear. The laughter got louder. Max huffed. She sat up and noticed Mike was gone. She saw his crutches were gone. Her eyebrows rose. She stood up. She threw on Mike's blue hoodie. She chuckled when she looked at it. It just seemed so, Mike-ish. She walked out of the room. She heard chatter downstairs. She slowly walked down the stairs, rubbing her eyes. She reached the living room. She walked into the kitchen. She yawned. She saw Dustin and Will there, but ignored it. She needed a second to fully wake up.
"Hey Mike where's the cereal?" Max asked.
"Second cabinet." Mike answered. Max opened the cabinet and grabbed some Cheerios.
"Why hello to you too." Dustin teased Max. Max rolled her eyes.
"Hi." She greeted him and Will.
"Where's the coffee grounds?" Max questioned. Mike chuckled.
"Mom hides it. Refuses to let anyone except her and Ted drink coffee." Mike told Max. Max laughed.
"That's funny, but I don't see color until I drink my usual morning coffee." Max told Mike. Maybe she exaggerated slightly, but she does need coffee to fully wake up. Mike shrugged his shoulders.
"There's some Apple juice in the fridge." Mike teased. Max rolled her eyes. Mike knows she hates Apple Juice.
"Go suck a lemon." Max retorted. Will and Dustin snickered.
"Wow, someone's being sour." Mike replied. Max laughed slightly.
"That pun was horrible." Max told Mike. He shrugged his shoulders.
"Who said I was making a pun out of it?" Mike answered. Max huffed.
"You're something else wheeler. You really are." Max told him. He smirked. He drank a sip of his coffee. Max turned to him. Mike held back a laugh. Dustin and Will laughed. Max crossed her arms.
"Coffe grounds are in the 2nd cabinet on the top shelf." Mike pointed at the top shelf. Max huffed. She grabbed a chair and stood on it. She grabbed the coffee grounds. She started the coffee maker after pouring the coffee grounds in. She put the chair back and turned to the boys.
"How long was I asleep?" Max asked. Mike pointed at the clock. Max looked at it. 2:35
"What the shit?! Why didn't anyone wake me up?" Max asked.
"You looked peaceful. Plus, I didn't want you awake while I showered." Mike answered her. Max chuckled. She noticed the Mike's hair was messy and that it was still dripping water slightly. Max rolled her eyes. There was a knock at the door. Mike stood up. He used his crutches and walked over and opened the door. He glared at the person who stood on the other side.
"What do you want Lucas?" Mike snapped at him. Max groaned and stood up. Will and Dustin shushed her and made her sit down. Lucas shoved his hands into his jacket pockets.
"Listen, I shouldn't have jumped you. I'm sorry. You were right. Max is over me, and I should have accepted it. As much as it pains me to say it, I've accepted it. And you guys are probably better together than me and her ever were. And I hope you can forgive me." Lucas said. Mike looked at him.
"So, you won't jump me again?" Mike asked unsurely. Lucas shook his head.
"Nope." Lucas replied. Max accidentally hit her toe on the table.
"Shit!" She whined. She froze. Lucas's jaw dropped. He peered around Mike and saw Max.
"Dude! Did you sleep with her?!" Lucas asked in shock. Mike made a face.
"What? No. God no! No! Nothing like that happened dude! Gross!" Mike said. Max pretended to gag. Dustin and Will laughed.
"Then why is she here? She's wearing your hoodie?! WHAT THE FUCK?! YOU SLEPT WITH HER!" Lucas yelled. Mike shook his head.
"No I didnt. Not like that! God lucas that's gross!" Mike replied. Lucas's eyes widened.
"But you guys both slept together?! You shared a bed?!" Lucas asked. Mike's face went red slightly.
"N- no! Th- that's none of your business!" Mike stammered. Dustin and Will laughed their asses off. Mike huffed.
"Okay, Lucas, I accept your apology. Now can you leave? I'll see you at school." Mike said as he closed the door.
"But!-"
"BYE LUCAS!" Mike yelled. He leaned against the door.
"Oooooooh." Dustin and Will teased. Mike sighed.
"Fuck you both. Not funny." Mike said. He made his way to the living room.
"That's Max's job." Will hollered back. Max punched him in the arm playfully. Will laughed even harder. Mike groaned when the phone rang. He heard it coming from the phone in his room. He made his way up the stairs. Max followed. They both walked into his room. He answered the phone.
"Hello?" He asked. It was Richie. Mike sat down on his bed. Max sat beside him.
"Hey, um, there's been a little problem, so we won't be back until wednesday. You see, apparently there was a huge pileup of like twelve cars because of a bomb, and now nobody can leave town until wednesday because they're investigating." Richie told Mike. Mike barely heard him, as he was focusing on not making a sound. Max was kissing his neck. Mike rubbed his face.
"Uh, o- okay." Mike stammered. Max smirked.
"You okay? Is your leg bothering you?" Richie asked. Mike sighed.
"No. I just uh-" mike stopped when Max grabbed his thigh. He groaned slightly.
"Mike? What was that?" Richie asked. Mike coughed.
"Uh, I- I just hit my arm on the- uh- w- w- window." Mike stuttered. He could barely speak. Max stood up and closed Mike's door and locked it. She turned back to Mike.
"I gotta go Richie. Bye." Mike said. He hung up the phone. He dropped it. Max wrapped her arms around Mike's neck. She sat behind him.
"What?" Mike asked with a chuckle. Max giggled.
"You're amazing girlfriend is craving attention from her oh so amazing boyfriend." Max whined jokingly. Mike turned and looked at her. His face was red.
"What kind of attention?" Mike asked. He wiggled his eyebrows. Max and him both laughed. Mike turned to face Max. Max kissed him. He kissed her back. Max straddled Mike. Mike pulled her closer by her waist. A knock on the door interrupted them.
"Everything ok in there?" Dustin asked. Max got off of Mike. Mike rolled his eyes.
"Were fine. I just got off the phone with Richie. My family won't be home until Wednesday." Mike told them. He started to get up and looked down.
"Well, shit." He muttered. He threw on an oversized hoodie that went to his knees. He made his way over and unlocked the door and opened it. The boys smirked.
"Hey, here's an idea. We should have a party!" Dustin suggested. Mike raised an eyebrow.
"Who all would come?" Mike asked. Will smiled.
"Probably the whole 9th grade. Usually parties have almost all freshman, a couple sophmores, a few juniors, and tons of seniors." Will answered.
"Okay, well, if we have a party, it can't get out of hand." Mike told them. The boys fist bumped and cheered.
"What day?" Max asked.
"Friday." Dustin answered. Mike shrugged his shoulders.
"Ok. Lers go order pizza. I'm hungry." Mike said. The boys ran down the stairs. Max stood up.
"What did you put the hoodie on for?" Max asked curiously.
"Max, you don't wanna know. But this is not over." Mike said. He winked at Max. Max blushed. Mike laughed and walked down the stairs.
"Could I be anymore in love with you, Wheeler?" Max said to herself. She walked down the stairs.
