She padded back to the medicine den the next morning, of course supervised by Grayspots. "How are you doing Stormkit?" Cloudkit asked. "Fine. Just in pain." Stormkit replied. "So how long will it be before she returns to the nursery?" Grayspots asked the medicine cat. "She'll be back soon enough. I just have to keep her here for a lil while to see if she get any infection. Only Starclan knows what was in that fox's mouth." Replied the beautiful tortoiseshell she cat.
"Is there anyway you can put my tail back? I can't walk or climb properly without it!!" Stormkit questioned. "I so sorry honey, but I can't. But don't worry. You'll find a way to work with it..." she said, not sounding very convinced by her own words. "Grayspots, we need to talk." She continued. Then she tilted her head in the direction of Stormkit. "Oh yes!" The two she cats padded away. Out of earshot.
Cloudkit strained to hear what they were saying but heard nothing more than chirping of birds. She gave up and sat down by her sister. "How's it like being in the medicine den?" Asked Cloudkit. "I'm bored, I always watch others playing and doing this while I can't even stand properly." Stormkit sighed. "Well it doesn't even matter anyway. When you come back we're grounded from going outside till we're apprentices." Cloudkit explained with a chuckle. The sun moved out of the clouds. Rays entered the den lighting up everything, only to be covered by the clouds once more.
Cloudkit learned a bit of things about omens from Spottedleaf. Could this be a sign from Starclan? And did it have something to do with her and her sister? Spottedleaf and Grayspots padded back to them. "Well I guess we'll be leaving now." Grayspots said. "Get well soon Stormkit. I'll come back again soon today ok?" "With me too?" Asked the white little she kit. "No Cloudkit. What's the point of your punishment if you keep going outside constantly?" Responded the queen.
Grayspots walked Cloudkit back to the nursery and then returned to the medicine den. Cloudkit never felt more lonely in her life. She curled up in the nest she shared with her mother, though this time she was all alone. Stormkit, please come back soon. She found herself falling asleep. She didn't want to, but she was exhausted, last night she tossed and turned thinking about the incident, that could've ended her sisters life.
Cloudkit woke up. She was standing in the forest, the same spot that sister got injured. The memory of snapping jaws and blood flooded her mind. Then she say a shape in the distance. She squinted her eyes and looked farther out. It was a cat! She started to move towards it. She had no control of her body. She kept walking until something jumped at her. She woke with a jerk. Moss was stuck in her fur, and the bedding was messy. What a scary dream! Well, at least it's over, or could it mean something. No it couldn't! She was only a kit. She looked at Frostfur and her kits. Then she looked at her paws. I wish my family was here right now...
