You were still chilling in your room while Mal was getting dress fitted, hoping that you wouldn't have to go through that same experience.
"I'm just tired E." Mal stated. "I have at least 20 more events after this one and I can't remember what a single one of them is." You shot her a sympathetic smile, as you could tell by Mal's constant weariness and worrying, life while dating king was not all cupcakes and rainbows.
Though you were all in the land of hope and happiness, at least that's what you sarcastically called it, there was one big part of you that was missing. Don't get me wrong the Isle sucked but your whole life was there. You were so busy in your thoughts you didn't hear Mal start talking.
"E, (N/N) do you ever think about what we would be doing if we were back on the Isle right now?" Evie started laughing, "That's funny." You knew what Mal was referring to, you thought about the Isle all the time, In fact it was all you could think about since you got to Auradon.
Suddenly the T.V started blaring, "Ahh look who's on T.V!" Mal sat on the edge of the bed to watch what the reporter had to say, you slid up next to her and grabbed her hand. You looked at her to show that you knew exactly how she was feeling and that it would be ok even if you weren't sure it would be. The reporter started speaking, "As the royal couple continues there tour of the kingdom they dined with Aladdin and Jasmine."
"6 months ago no one thought King Ben and his girlfriend from the wrong side of the bridge would last." "Is that all they think of us? We're from the wrong side of the tracks?" You added. Evie yelled at you to shush but you didn't dare say more because you knew how that would make Mal feel.
Mal stares at her hand and then gasped. She ran over to the dresser and grabbed her book. You knew she had it, she told you I mean you are her best friend/sister. But that didn't mean you approved. "Read it fast at lightning speed remember everything I need." She then continued to finish the spell while Evie and you watched her.
"I know Mal's secret to fitting in and Ben wouldn't like it one bit." Evie replied. "Haven't you guys had enough secrets between you already." "Evie you remember what I was like before I had my spell book I mean I was a complete disaster." You started to talk to ease the tension. "Look Mal, Evie's right, the whole secret thing between you and Ben is not gonna last very long and you know it." She gave you a sad look.
"But I know how hard it is to fit in and that spell book is like the last part of you from the Isle." "To me I think you should keep the book but you have to talk to Ben," "If he really cares about you he will understand why you used your spells, and if you really care about him you will tell him, relationships won't work if they're based on lies."
She gave you a small smile. "I know you're right and I have been one to always go to you for relationship advice that surprisingly works considering how you have never been in a relationship before." You laughed. "You'd be surprised." Evie gasped, "Shut up! Who?" "That person broke my heart and didn't bother to pick up the pieces so now I sit here giving relationship advice to future queens instead of myself." Your friends looked at you sadly.
"But its all in the past no need to worry about it or me." You said to break the sad silence in the room. "You don't ever miss running wild and breaking all the rules?" Mal asked looking at Evie. "Like stealing and lying and fighting." "Yeah." She asked hopefully. "No why would we? M come here look at where we are we're in Auradon." She grabbed your and Mal's hands. we're Auradon girls now." The T.V started playing showing Mal on the screen.
Evie squealed, "See this is the land of opportunity we can be whoever we want to be here, let's just leave the past in the past." You smiled at Evie and then turned to Mal, you wanted to leave the past in the past but everyone was trying to get you to be someone who you were not, and that was even worse with Mal. She was going to be a queen and that brought on a whole new style of pressures. She squeezed your hand, you could tell all she wanted to do was to get out of all of this hoping and expecting that everyone was doing.
You turned back to Evie, "And besides, look at the shoes." She yelled. You and Mal laughed. "Severe." You replied.
